It's hipster to drop the second-last letter if it's a vowel these days anyway! Tumblr, Flickr, etc...

I'm not a hipster. Never will be. I have too much pride in the proper English language to abuse it like that. I also won't use stupid abbreviations just to fit under 140 characters. The whole idea of limiting to that number, based on the arcane SMS system was a really dumb one anyway, and you could also say it discriminates based on language, since Chinese and Japanese users can fit a lot more communication into that space. Why not limit by word count instead? Has anyone ever thought of that? Nope - as long as it keeps bringing in money, I guess.

I was only saying that jokingly. Yeah the 140 character limit is a bit silly. The reason is apparently to keep people succinct in this ADHD instant-gratification world, lol

Yeah, I knew you were joking, but I tend to ramble when things piss me off. You know what it's like - you write hold journals on such matters as well. I do believe I write my messages succinctly, but yes, today's generation can barely even read anyway, so what's the point?
