What's up with me
Hey Watchers,
So I have not been active on here recently. With no storms to chase or anything interesting going on I haven't had much to post. I graduated college in May and searched for a job for about 4 months. I took a job at a news station in Wichita Falls, Texas. Definitely a much smaller town then where I'm used to as I am from Houston and went to college in Dallas. Though the town is definitely not the most exciting place to be, I am enjoying my job so far and look forward to learning much more and moving up in it. I have only been there a month and apparently I have caught the attention of the station manager as a very hard worker. He wants to cross-train me in different areas so I am really excited about that. Since I have taken this job, I don't know if I will have much time to chase come Spring of 2017, but if I do, you will see many posts and pics of my experiences.
Probably the most interesting time I have had so far was election night at the station. Though I mostly edit video and run camera/teleprompter, I did get to see what others were doing. It was quite chaotic with tons of info coming in, not to mention a long delay in Wichita county voting totals. Honestly, I kinda had to stop caring about who won the presidential election and tune it out. The constant bad news and negative press each candidate got drove me crazy. And now we know the results of that election. Not gonna say I am happy because I'm not, but it is what it is. Just keep doing the right thing, be kind to others, encourage others, and for God sake listen to people. If I have learned anything from this election its that we don't listen to each other enough, we just yell at people. Anyway, that ends my little political opinions.
I do really want to try and go to TFF come 2017. It will be difficult and I probably could only go for a day, but I would love to hang out with anyone that will be there and will try my hardest to go at least for one day. Anyway, I really do want to be more active on here somehow. It may just be in the form of journals as I am not really gifted in traditional art. I will try to find some things to take photos of during the winter as I will most likely not have any storm opportunities. Anyway, thank you so much to my watchers and readers of this journal. I appreciate your watches and hope you all have an amazing day.
