So I thought I'd let everyone know how my family is doing. I actually live in Wichita Falls now but my family lives in Spring on the north side of Houston.

So my neighborhood and house are fine. No water on my street. We do have a lot of friends though in a neighborhood a little over a mile from home that are underwater. My dad actually launched our boat and picked a few of our friends up who were trapped in their homes. A lot of friends were affected by this storm.

I'm so proud of our city and how people have banded together to help each other. Local media have stayed on the air either online or on tv the whole time to help get information out. Yes there are looters and bad people but they are the exception not the rule. Also thank you to all the surrounding states and communities that have pitched in to help. With all the terrible news about things lately, it's nice to see that Americans still care about each other.

Be thinking, praying, donating or volunteering to help Houston. It's going to take a long time to recover from this, but we will and we will be better and stronger than before.
