TARPS OFF BOYS I'm still around. I haven't forgotten that I draw sometimes and that I should probably get around to doing that again.
I've been super busy. Been putting in a lot of overtime at my new job, and now I'm taking another course that my employers wanted me to have. Working night shifts all the time really kills my creativity and I spend any spare time I have with my wife or with friends, since I hardly get to do anything fun anymore. My hours simply don't allow me to do much. I'm awake by 2pm every day and usually in bed by 5am, even on weekends.
Things look to be changing though, and soon. I can't say too much because my journals are public and I don't want to count any chickens before they've hatched, but I should be getting back on days within the next couple months.
I haven't had a vacation in 5 years because I've worked 4 different jobs in that time and never accrued the vacation hours. I'm hoping for all that to change soon. This job is really good to me, the compensation and benefits are great. I'm finally not just crawling, but jogging away from debt and am able to put money away for once. So things are going great here; I'm just waiting for the scheduling to change and for other things to calm down and I'll be back at my tablet again.
I have not forgotten those commissions I've taken on. I'm really sorry for how long it's taking, but it's always in the front of my mind what I owe people and that will be taken care of soon!

It's not so much a "busy season." We're a small factory that has picked up a few new big contracts and production has gone from 5 to 7 days a week. We have 7 mechanics, but only 4 of us hold a power engineering certificate, in which it's a legal requirement to have at least one of us on shift at any time during production. We're hiring 2 more, though; so this overtime should be coming to a close soon and I should be able to put a bid on a shift selection when that happens.

Yeah, I kinda owe a lot to my wife for keeping me together. If not for her, I'd probably have sunk into some sort of alcohol or drug addiction by now. :\
