Life and Career (and Art)

TARPS OFF BOYS
So I figured I'd give an update with regards to my total inactivity in the art world (and somewhat in the furry world).
I landed a job working as a maintenance engineer at a company about a year ago. I was stuck on night shifts for a full year which pretty much killed any creative desire I had. The work was great and I absolutely loved it; it's just the free time I had at home was mostly spent with my wife since our schedules were exact opposites. On weekends, I basically maintained the same sleep schedule and my social life completely tanked. I won't say I was depressed, but I was certainly a bit dampened.
A year into the job (basically one month ago), my boss resigns, and I was chosen as the candidate to hold the fort until my employers could find a suitable replacement maintenance manager. Reasons for this included: I'm the only guy in my department with extensive computer experience, I was already working quite closely with my former boss on some of the managerial tasks relating to scheduling, purchasing, and the preventive maintenance program, among other things. It was only supposed to be temporary, but I found myself growing quite comfortable with the environment after a few weeks, and I got some great feedback from other members of the management team, both within our factory, and across the continent. I had the president of Canadian operations shake my hand yesterday and tell me that he's been keeping a close eye on me, and that he's very happy with how I've been doing. o.=.o
So today, I was offered the position of maintenance and engineering supervisor. The position was created for me because I don't currently hold the necessary qualifications to be making the manager's salary, but I have the skills to manage the department and I qualified for a salary at least fitting of that. I signed my name on the offer letter without a second thought. I've officially made the leap from being a mechanic to being part of the management team.
Over the next couple of years, I'll be working on part-time courses in Maintenance Management Professional at BCIT. The goal is for me to get my certifications so that I can be placed into the management position.
My career has taken a huge leap in a very short amount of time. My future has revealed a number of newly opened doors that I intend to pursue.
So my art will probably continue being a secondary thought in the meantime. Not because my interests have changed, but because I want to focus on a future for myself and my family to-be. Jessie and I are working on having a kid, which will end up taking more time away from me and my hobbies.
But don't worry: I'm still 100% a scaly furfag and that will never change. You'll still see art from me when I can get around to producing it. I still keep a presence on Twitter and Telegram. I'm not going anywhere. ^.=.^
GRILL MARKS, BUD!

Haha! Fucking congratulations dude! Glad to hear that bit of worry that you had when we last talked was unfounded. I bet you're happy as can be with the result.

OP
Well it was founded. Haha. I got thrown to the wolves right at day one with having to manage my team during an audit, and was put in charge of commissioning a $300,000 new piece of machinery that was all initiated by my old boss. I found myself struggling to keep up with the information I was presented with each day, with those two huge projects on my plate from the get-go. 3 weeks after that, however, things have quieted down and I'm actually able to keep ahead of the wheel, so it's gotten a lot better!
