Keyboard layout

Psst
dvorak isn't any faster or better than QWERTY*
QWERTY wasnt designed to slow down typists
QWERTY was designed to spread out commonly used letters to stop jams, because the physical levers next to eachother would collide, which also conviniently spreads them out so you use all your fingers equally when using the homerow technique, which is actually insanely efficient.
That said, even efficient key placements dont matter if you're using your keyboard properly. Using the homerow you only need to move any finger one space to press any key. Studies have shown that QWERTY, DVORAK, Alphabetical or even random keyboard layouts are all just as fast when used by a skilled typist.*
If you are a real nerd and really want faster typing for some reason, go ahead and learn stenograph, upwards of 200-300WPM for new users while much faster is possible.*
*psst, of course don't take my word as fact, this is based off various studies, there are many conflicting studies all with their own bias, im just combating the myth that QWERTY was designed to slow you down. Also, Stenograph takes years of learning and has a high failure rate, have fun <3
