Heh, you aren't the only one. Plenty of people have trust issues, including myself, so I wouldn't worry about it unless they use it to take something valuable to you.

Alright! Here's something i've never encountered for my advice so it may not be that good.

Okay, It isn't stupidity. I am like that. I care so much for anyone...not because I'm stupid or for selfish reasons, but because I can't help but care and it's good character. This probably means that u have good character. If u knew right away they were selfish, cowardly, dihonest people, then it was a mistake that many people make. Selfish people can hide the truth really well so that people can do their bidding. Dishonest people are the same thing, but they'll lie to get out of trouble. As for cowardly people, I need details on what u mean by "cowardly" Remember that this is a mistake that we ALL make. Forget those people and cheer up Lathander, as i saw alot, things could be worse.
