2017 updates!!

Happy New Year, peoples!
Few things that I need to lay out there as we settle into 2017; mostly just updating, announcements, and generally bringing y'all up to speed.
First and foremost, I want to let you all know that I plan on raising my commission prices. With another year down and that much more experience under my belt, I feel it is about time that I make some pricing adjustments to the overall price of commissions. Here's a little peek at what I've got right now...
Lineart:
Bust - $5
Full Body - $10
Additional characters adds $5 each
w/ complex background adds $10
NSFW adds $5
Flat color:
Bust - $10
Full Body - $15
w/ complex background adds $20
Additional characters adds $10 each
NSFW adds $5
Color+Shading:
Bust - $20
Full Body - $30
w/ complex background adds $50
Additional characters adds $15 each
NSFW adds $10
As time goes on, I am certain to make further adjustments to either allow or take from certain aspects of my usual workflow. Until that happens, however, this is what I plan to use. By and large, most of the adjustments or small increments of what they were last year. However, you may note a pretty sizable change in a couple of the departments, largely including shading and backgrounds.
Please be aware that "complex backgrounds" is a rather loose term for me. Compelxity of backgrounds vary from instance to instance, so they are deffinitely up for interpretation and adjustment on a case-by-case basis. However, I should explain my reasing for this larger price hikes.
Over the last year, I've noticed that pieces including shading and complex backgrounds, both together and individually, would often dramatically increase the amount of time required to finish an art piece as opposed to, say a full body flat color, which could take me on average 1-2 hours. I've had pieces of artwork that including both shading and backgrounds take me anywhere between 28-42 working hours to complete, sometimes even more. I can sometimes be a stickler for details, and while I'm trying to learn not to be, I need the costs to be a little bit more in balance with the effort given for said aspects of my art.
Do I like those prices on my list? Not really. Blackwell kind of twisted my arm on that on. But, at the same time, he's not wrong; $10 for 4+ days of work is absolute slave labor. In time, maybe over the course of this year, I do hope to become more proficient with churning out good detail backgrounds and shading. However, for the sake of being about to do more art without mentally exhausting myself on each individual piece, I'm afraid I have to hike those prices to kind of both discourage requests for so much of it as well as make the next few instances of those options a little more worth while. Sorry, but... not sorry. ^^;
In other news, I do have some plans I hope to set in motion soon to help bring down the cost of commission as well. I've always felt that art should be affordable for everybody, but there's also the issue of keeping the roof over my head and food in my belleh. For that, I want to try and use Pateon to both reduce the overall prices of my commissions by a significant factor, AND keep my greedy dragon belly happy! ^3^
I intend to release a Patreon soon which will have low-cost tiers for my everyday hard-working supporters who want to enjoy the simpler things in life without having to eat their wallet everytime they do so. Tiers will range from $1 to $10 and will include rewards like free sketches and colors, as well as a nice little coupon to get a discounted commission for the highest tier subscriber. Don't worry! I have no intentions of pay-walling anyone! I might be an ass, but I'm not 100% a dick. Everything I do for Patreon will become public! It's just going to be a vehicle by which I can start managing my time and efforts. Not to mention the biggest reward of them all - the monthly goal! As I get more subscribers and get closer to meeting that 30 day mile stone regularly, I will be offering drastically reduced prices over all commission options! For everyone!
Alright alright, calm your tits! In other news, I'll be spending a bit of time over the next few days getting all the sites I frequent up to date. As I stand right now, I have this FA which I upload almost everything to, a e621 which gets slightly less, a Deviantart I haven't touched in likely a year now, and a Tumblr that's lacking more and more of my attention by the week. Not to mention my Picarto which I haven't even tried to customize yet. I want to bring them back out of the bottom of my toy bin and get them dusted off for showcasing again.
Another thing I really need to do is start branching out. Didn't think I'd say this so soon, but I need more than rainbow farts and candy-coated pony butts in my life. I need to get back in touch with my furry and dragon side, both of which I've hardly ever done since getting this awsome little Cintiq for going digital and saving money on expensive shipping. That's without mentioning the multitude of original furry characters I've never touched since that faited pony-filled day sometime after season 3 of MLP finished out. Hell, maybe I'll even see what other fandoms I might be interested in. I know I like pokemon! ^3^
Anyway, I think that's it for now. I need to get back to doing what I'm doing. Again, happy New Year, everybody! <3
