This i have been contemplating for some time, and this morning i may have decided on that i will not be temporarily taking or accepting any new fursuit commissions or applications starting as of today, and may focus on doing a few -re-made suits only. as the demand and stress of commissions, are upsetting me to much, added with this year not getting of to a good start as i hoped, (family deaths, work stress, family stress, then add the stress of people demanding suit commissions, its become a bit to much to handle at this time.
Its been near impossible to keep up with, even though my turn-around from start to finish of a suit for a full suit is quicker than many, being behind a few months and cant get caught up is frustrating as it is, then added with others getting frustrated or upset with me because they can't get a slot at certain times or contacting them or opening a slot for them until a couple months later, added to the high demand of people wanting a suit that i just can't take on with my current work load, all adds to my decision to close accepting commissions at this time. I will finish the current ones on list along with the few waiting for parts and stuff, but after that it may be done for commissions. I may just focus on pre-made suits for awhile.
A new set of updated Fursuit Application forms with some new options is being worked on, ( with new rules and TOS, & some added options) but if i close commission-suits these will be only for any open auctions or for the current few on the list i will still finish.
Sometimes i feel some people can be really selfish as people think i am a machine and expect me to take on their commissions no matter what. When i'm forced to rush, i loose interest in doing it. meaning i don't enjoy working on that commission or suit,
This syndrome applies to any Artist, if an artist is pushed or rushed, they lose interest or no longer enjoys a certain piece the creativity & inspiration is gone.
This may be either temporary or permanent. See how it goes after i get the current commissions on my current list done.

The quality of your products is definitely worth waiting for. Please don't let anyone "bully" you into taking more than you are comfortable with. If they want a "quickie" then there are plenty of other suit makers that can whip out an indifferent product for them.
The interest you put into your suits is obvious. You are the only maker that I can literally spot something that you made from across a crowded room. All the others are pretty much generic and mostly look the same.
Don't want you burning out. Take the time to get caught up and then work at a pace where you are in a stress free environment.
I am perfectly willing to wait however long it takes for my next FSS product.
I hate the thought of Picasso or Da Vinci not painting because it's stressful.
Everything you do from the time the alarm clock goes off is stressful.
Don't roll over and hit lifes snooze button because it's easy.
You're better than that, I got too much faith in ya!!

As to commissioners making unreasonable time or product demands … well most of those do not have any IDEA what it takes out of a person physically or mentally to be creative 24/7 (and have a real life outside of product-making). For them it’s just GIMME! I WANT IT NOW! WHAT’S TAKING YOU SO LONG? And my favorite: I’VE GIVEN YOU MONEY AND SO I OWN YOU!
Besides that, Winter with confining us indoors, sucks. If and when Spring finally arrives, then maybe you can get back into suit-building, but at a SLOW PACE. Don’t try to keep accepting as many commissions as come in, expecting to stretch yourself to cover them all. Even elastic bands that are stretched too often and too far eventually S-N-A-P !

You've taken a very professional approach to the matter.
You know you'll always have a crowd waiting for commissions and folks will always want your pre-made suits. The community is hard to please sometimes(can't win them all), but you've been very good to them so I see no reason why you can't step back and maintain a positive image still.
Personally: I'm excited to see what you'll do up with your new creative freedom! :D
Good luck in your adventures, Firestorm!
Commissioners in general must take this virtue to heart...
but never stop doing what you love
It's sad to see you so stressed with this and we all see that you are not making this decision lightly. DO what is best for you, you cannot create at your best of you are not feeling at your best.
Your fans will always be here for you :)
