This Guy Didn't Learn
For the record I normally don't link to stuff like this, but this guy isn't playing fair.
He's announcing it to all the people he knows instead of moving on or keeping it on the down low.
So I guess I'll do the same.

Also I never directly called him a thief, I just said he was uploading my stuff without permission.
Edit: I just don't want this stuff on youtube.. That's all. I don't feel it's appropriate to post on a website where kids can accidentally find it.

I also explained what he is doing. that he is posting reaction videos to those asking to get their art taken down and therfore I go this way without even contacting this person upfront.
I usually don't mind, but this person went to far now.
if youtube is doing their job we will see results soon.
I think if you did not draw the artwork for yourself you maybe got no chance at all even if it is your character. and even if you paid for it...
sorry. you could only ask the creator of the artwork to report it for you I guess... eh... complicated.
I Guess all we can do is hope someone will see an email and get it sorted out :3
(My aunt works in law, and she says that that's pretty much how it is >-> )
It doesn't matter what country he is in, the terms of service of youtube doesn't change depending on which country you're in.
It's not a Law thing, it's a rule on youtube.
In this case I agree the person did wrong: It's the artist's work, so if they ask you to not post it you should comply. Both because it's the right thing to do, and respecting the wishes of an artist regarding their work is the least you can do in return for them creating and sharing something you're still allowed to view and enjoy.
That is however as far as it goes with me: Once we start talking about calling the police, sending SWAT teams after people, hiring the interpol, that sort of thing... it's a thing gone too far. Saying we should legally pursue someone across the world for copying art on the internet is a bit like saying we should behead someone for saying a swear word in public: It's not a nice thing to do, but it's not something you turn the world upside down over.
also every picture gallery app has a slideshow feature. and listening to music the same time is easy.
I don't think people who watch vore slideshow videos do so because they don't know any better... except for those who get them recommended by YT's broken algorithms, and click out of curiosity unaware of what they'll find. As for kids watching it, I despise forceful age censorship in general (yes even if it's porn) so that's not something I care much about. The ability to prevent friends and family from finding out what you draw is however an important matter... it definitely justifies some artists fear of their stuff being showcased on Youtube, even if that doesn't necessarily trace them to their real life identity.
That's a very shitty reason tbh. If that is your REAL reason.
If he wants to bash on this guy because he didn't get permission then do that, don't sugarcoat it
Didn't even get the luxury of him linking my page either, and he got my name wrong on two of them, calling me "Lily" or something.
But yeah. I don't understand what's so hard about "I don't want my art posted here, and I never gave you permission. Please don't upload my stuff." Like, even if it weren't illegal, it's still a douchey thing to do, and picking a fight over it is even douchier.
And I do consider taking someone's art without their permission and posting it, especially without crediting or even claiming ownership over it, and ESPECIALLY on something as huge and publicly accessible as YouTube, a dickish thing to do. This motherfucker deserves all the shit he gets from the general populace, particularly because he doubled down on his poor behavior.
And personally? I don't mind people reposting my art. I don't really understand it on a personal level (Just an intellectual one), but I am also aware that other artists have reasons to not want it to happen, so you're playing Russian Roulette if you steal art and post it without permission, even if you credit the artist. Sometimes BECAUSE you credit the artist, as in Ivan's case. He said he doesn't want the YouTube crowd coming to his page, and from what I've seen about how people act on YouTube, I don't blame him.
At this point, I agree he should have taken the video down after Eye messaged him about it... that much is common sense. Just as much, I believe everyone else should stop hating on this person by now: Despite some people stubbornly insisting on treating copyright on par with such, he hasn't actually killed or assaulted or raped anyone nor did he rob an actual store and cause real prejudice that ruined a life. People make these videos in their free time for the enjoyment of others... it's so other furries can take a break and spend 3 minutes of their life relaxing to some music and recapping through art they like. Sure, he definitely did a few things wrong, and was told about it by many users so far... don't treat him as some wrongdoer who's just trying to annoy artists for no reason by doing (let us abuse this word for the millionth time) art theft.
he has to learn that he has to ask and therefor a lot people must react befor a stubborn realizes it is not just one person complaining.
because people like that mostly underage threat you like that one person who should just fuck off. its good for them to learn. sorry to say.
and I don't want to attack you with that but I cringe when I see such videos. I don't think they do any good to the community. They even teach other people that it is cool to do such a thing. also if you search for vore on youtube, it is filled with slideshows of random pics. thats cancer in my eyes I can't even find real videos anymore because of this. they multiply so fast because they are so easy done and spammed. <.<;
also the term "art theft" can be used if people upload your artwork at their own accounts. especially on youtube since youtube pays you money per view.
people might claim they don't gain profit but you can't prove it if they activated the program for it or not. you simply can't. and therfor theft is a valid therm to use.
When scenarios like this aren't the case though, and artists either give permission or aren't upset about being showcased, I still support those videos in general. I mean they aren't anything special... I just find them pleasant and fun to relax to, as they sometimes help me take a break and get my mind off stupid and unpleasant things. I don't think such videos cover more interesting entries in the search results generally... the only exceptions are a few good animations.
And yes, monetizing such videos is a really mean thing to do, kinda the second worst after not crediting though much worse. And it is possible to tell: If a video does have ad revenue enabled, you see an ad banner to the right of the page as well as one overlayed at the bottom of the video... at least that's the layout I remember, I've had AdBlock Plus installed for years now.
With that being said, FA and other sites are great for "alter-egos" that cannot be connected to you in real life so no one will be able to find or connect you with that content - at least not without IP tracking and serious digging.
I feel for you in that you don't want your characters or "you" (as your alter-ego) and artwork of yours reposted without your permission. In aerospace engineering, we often seek contracts with the government so that designs remain within our country and allies only - for the soul purpose that it isn't copied or stolen and manufactured for cheaper in a foreign country. Usually designs aren't even related to national defense, but without secrecy, another country can simply take the idea and ruin it by creating it cheaper themselves with no legal infringements. Sure, it would be illegal for some company or someone in the United States to take the idea, but some guy on the other side of the world can do whatever the hell they want with your work, and is often encouraged by their governments.
The only way, and I mean only way, to avoid just anybody from seeing your work is to share it privately, which really isn't an option in your case. Suck it in, learn to ignore it, and realize that in the end, it is them who must pay the price for being so rude and disrespecting your wishes as the creator. Karma has a way at getting with people.
And thank you for sharing that info, I actually didn't know about this though it makes sense now that you mention it. But yeah: When something is shared publicly, it's hard to expect that it stays in one place and is distributed under perfect control... something the illusion of pure copyright likes to ignore and do the impossible over.
And sadly Karma is not a great judge.
Youtube is spammed full of reports. Take a music video with lyrics - the artist did not give that person permission to upload their work, yet they do anyway. Something as "small" as this will likely never be seen by the eyes of youtube. As for law, it is out of our hands - as disgusting as it is, it is better to accept they are scum and not spend anymore time on it. Life is short, don't waste your time with fools like this.
Reporting them for copyright infringement usually means that the videos will be taken down.
Done it myself already sucessfully.
>Title of the journal was 'Youtube and Art Theives'
>"Two times I have reported this video for stealing my art:..."
>'Also I never directly called him a thief,'
>"Stealing my art"
>"...never directly called him a thief"
Okay... What did you call him?
What do you call a person who steals things?
Ah, that video was entertaining, the part where his evidence for not being in the wrong was the download option on the art page.
And then demanding an apology because of it.
I love stupid.
*facepaw* I have no words
Don't know if this will help, but I went looking for it for you,
Looks like YouTube actually listened to those reports for once.
