I had little contact with Albert overall over our times in the fandom, but I have a strong respect for him, as a creative, kind and supportive presence to fans and creators alike, and not prone to drama, which can be unusual in our circles.

He will be missed.

I had read his comic some time back and I had seen him make comments on several artist's works over the last couple of years that I've been a fan of anthro art. So, I knew of him. Everyone says he was a really nice guy and this makes me wish I had known him better. Anyway, thanks for posting this Eric and I hope we don't have to read a lot of these.

I only vaguely remember some of his art from the style... think I saw it many years ago. Sadly it happens to everyone eventually; After the day I heard that Skunkworks (James Hardiman) died so unexpectedly, I'm rather prepared for seeing journals like this about any popular figure in the fandom...

Gene's art (along with yours!) was among the first furry art I was ever exposed to. I loved his cast of characters, and also the very many one-offs he did featuring various characters from FurryMUCK who I knew.

I talked to him on FM some in the 90s but we sorta drifted apart. He will be missed; he was definitely one of the good ones. :(

Its sad, he is one of the people I followed when I discovered the "furry fandom" and found a way to identify just what I am.
