Among the most minor human injuries...
I live on the second floor of an apartment building. While going downstairs attempting to do laundry the other night, I tripped on the last step and terribly twisted or tore my right ankle. Since then I cannot walk.
I wholly believe that a tendon and/or ligament has been torn, and no bones in my ankle or foot are broken. Some random inflammation, some muscles that experience painful discomfort when attempting to use or put weight on, that's about it. This is among the most minor of human injuries.
But gosh, being reduced to the sad 3 legged crab walk to get around and take care of my most basic needs sure feels pathetic.
