Hey all, here's a relatively late march update though this has been a very busy month. At the start of the month I was hard at work on my mask for my SWSCA class and man was that a lot of fun and a challenge. When I get back from FWA and can get some leather rivets I'm going to work toward finishing it in time for Anthrocon.
I also ended up getting some new shoes though we ended up deciding against going on our annual March trip to MB. We both agreed that it wouldn't be as fun if I was having to use a walker to get around and I don't think walking 8 miles plus would of been very fun with a walker. Oh by the way I'm off the walker!
I'm still thinking of packing it for insurance but, I am going to be walking around FWA without it. My knee and ankle seem to finally be sturdy enough to hold me up.
I've been swimming and walking, Mattie and I are even walking as a team now.
We also took Mattie to the dog park for the first time with
Blasterblurby and Ba.
Productivity wise I haven't gotten nearly what I wanted to get done for FWA but, I did get a lot done in-between the knee and a sinus infection that made the month a bit of a lulu. I'm still doing miraculously better than I did last year. My price sheet is pretty much done, only have two more categories to figure pricing on. I have a square reader for artist alley, the mods to my bodysuit are almost done and a few other things I'm too tired to remember right now.(I started a water aerobics class this month and it's a lot more of a workout than you expect) I didn't get a new art show piece to add this year but, I will be entering my two from last year that didn't officially get entered.
At FWA I'm going to be taking quite a few slots for take home commissions and I'll be selling fursuit props and some other items, feel free to stop by and say hey.
Overall I think I'm doing well and I'm hoping to get everything I have left done before the con. Though done or not I'll pack what I have and make the best of it. How are you doing? Who all might I see at FWA?
Where are you staying?
The Hilton a hamster tunnel away.
What day are you getting there?
Some time Thursday
How are you traveling?
By car.
Who will you be rooming with?
BlasterBlurby and my mom
How is the best way to find you?
Just look for Mattie, or Takeshi. I’ll likely be wearing my airbrushed hat of Takeshi or my railroad hat when out of suit.
Are there any panels you might be attending?
Possibly I’m not entirely sure yet though
What do you look like?
5’6”, pale, short auburn hair, usually seen wearing a hat of sorts (My go-tos lately include my great grandfather's railroad cap, a flatcap, my airbrushed ballcap of Takeshi or my hat of Okto made by
mermade ) a t-shirt that’s either animal or popculture related, almost always wearing aviator sunglasses. Always has a golden retriever service dog at side or very close by.
Will you be suiting?
Definitely, I may not be moving as actively as last year given I’m still recovering from my knee/ankle injury but, I’ll definitely be suiting. I have to debut Takeshi’s new bodysuit right?
Do you do free art?
Once in a blue moon, when I do do it, usually it’s a surprise to the recipient.
Do you do trades?
Sometimes, not often
Do you do badges?
Yes, not at con though, I will be taking take-home commissions and you can grab one that way.
What is your gender?
Female
How tall are you?
5’6’’
Can I talk to you?
Of course! I’m almost always up for a chat. I won’t try to scare you off. If I can’t talk there’s probably a decent reason for why.
Can I touch you?
Ask First, I don’t mind a hug in suit but, I don’t like to be surprised.
Can I visit your room?
No. I can only picture inviting friends by but, don’t count on it.
Can I buy you a drink?
I don’t drink alcohol but, sure if you buy me a beverage in front of me and/or it’s in a sealed bottle/can. Can never be too careful right?
Do you accept gifts?
Love them but, I don't expect them.
Can I hug or snuggle with you?
Ask though likely only hug.
Are you nice?
That’s what I’m told. I try to be. If I’m not you probably gave me a good reason not to be.
Do you have an artist table?
I will be in artist alley for a portion of the con.
Will you be going to parties?
Doubt it, I’m not much of one for room parties.
Will you be performing?
Only when I’m in suit. As much as I’d like to actually do the talent or dance comp I’m not ready for either of those just yet. Especially not this year.
If I see you, how should I get your attention?
Just say hey or call my name or my suit’s name, wave or tap me on the shoulder. If you wave you’ll need to be pretty close and to my front I can’t see very far.
Where will you be most of the time during the day/s?
Probably artist alley, I’m not entirely sure yet but, that’s a fair bet.
What/where will you be eating?
Don’t know yet but, have been thinking of eating mostly sandwiches and chick-fi-la. Might eat at other places if invited by friends but, we’re trying to cut back this year so we probably won’t go much further than the food court otherwise
Can I come with you for food/fun/etc?
Only if invited. Just ask. I would love to go get food with friends, friends feel free to invite me if you like but, if your not invited it’s a bit creepy to tag along.
Can I look in your sketchbook?
Maybe, ask, if I’m in artist alley though there’ll be a portfolio you can look through as much as your heart desires.
Can I draw in your sketchbook?
Ask first. It depends on my mood
Can I take your picture?
Only if I’m in suit or with a group of friends and we all agree though I prefer only if I’m in suit.
What's your goal(s) for the con this year? Have a more successful time in artist alley this year, maybe make enough to get a t-shirt from
stablercake or to cover the cost of the con or just enough so I feel more successful than last year (which will be pretty easy.)
I’m also hoping to just relax and have fun, have a great con with friends and try to avoid having to be carried out of the con because of my knee
