Looking into creating my own Interactive Fiction site
8 years ago
With having some commissions specifically for my interactive fiction on Writing.com I have discovered that picture functionality is locked to an even higher cost account tier.
The reason I put my story on Writing.com is because it gave me editorial control over it and that the site has more than a few transformation focused IF's.
The biggest issue, among others, is that Writing.com is a poor medium to get people without accounts or non-subscription accounts to read and enjoy the IF's on it.
Sites such as CYOC, the BEAddventure, and Fiction Branches only give you posting privileges and I want more control.
This might be a pipe-dream for me, but I don't see how the groundwork for the work needed for even a feature-rich IF shouldn't be very intense. Of course, since I don't know much about the needed work, I could be talking out my ass.
So consider this more a post that I'm frustrated with Writing.com. It may prelude something better to come for my work. Anyways, enjoy what you can everyone!
