UK PonyCon 2017? Hopefully. Maybe. Well...

UK PonyCon this year is going to be in Bristol. This makes it possible that I might be able to go! I really want to attend again, as I've had a great time at UKPC in the past, especially last year. The whole age-inclusive nature of it really appeals to me, and I know several friends who are also planning on being at the event.
Ideally I'd stay in Bristol for three nights (Fri/Sat/Sun), but that may be beyond me this time, as the last year has not been at all kind to me financially. To quote Edmund Blackadder: "Sometimes I feel like a pelican – whichever way I turn I've got an enormous bill in front of me!" Unfortunately I find it impossible to sleep in shared hotel rooms, so that avenue of cost-cutting isn't open to me. Bristol hotel rates aren't at Bath levels (which are scary) but they're not bargains either.
So I'm now thinking it might have to be a one-night stay this year: travel down early on Saturday morning and back on Sunday evening. This was actually what I was planning for my first UKPC, in Leicester in 2014 -- and the journey time is similar. Though in that case, I was ill on the Saturday evening and had to go home, missing Sunday's programme altogether. Hopefully that won't happen again!
I've worked out that doing this would probably mean missing some/all of the opening and closing ceremonies, which would be a slight shame, but probably not much else. Given the choice of a slightly imperfect UK PonyCon experience or none at all, it really is no contest. So I will be buying a weekend ticket. This is going to happen. =:)
