The many Jayfox's

Looking through FA and other sites i'm surprised how many other people have adapted the name Jayfox, which is not surprising as it's a simple name. What surprises me the most is how many of them share fur fur colourings, all the way down to the paw print on my ass.
Someone also mentioned to me the other day how many blue furred foxes are around and that they almost outnumber the red and orange foxes. This has kind of triggered a level of defense and self promotion that is rare for me. Mainly because 20 years ago when i first discovered furry it was unusual to have furs that didn't have natural fur markings/colourings and too my knowledge there were only 3 blue furs around, myself, my ex-master who was a fox-taur and a rabbit. We even received 'strongly worded' private messages on IRC how we shouldn't have unrealistic fur colours and people out-rightly not even talking to us because we weren't akin to peoples idea of what a fur should be. My response was simple 'My character is a fox and has blue fur, if you have a problem with that, fuck off'.
So after plenty of rambling I want to be unusually selfish and just say two things:
1: I am and will always be the original jayfox :P
2: Whereas i was not the original blue fur around(my ex master was), i was the first full blooded fox with blue fur *puffs up chest and tail*

Furries with unnatural colors were not yet common when I went blue either, and I was in fact reluctant to because people did indeed have a stigma about it. It was annoying. But I went with my heart anyway and swapped over from snow white to blue arctic fox. :P I'll admit that it mildly irritates me that what was once me going with my heart flying in the face of others who weren't a fan of odd-colored furs is now seen as conforming and being this common thing. But it is who I am, so oh well! Salutations to other blue foxes, y'all awesome even if how common we are very mildly frustrates me at times. ;)
Well.. part-time "we" now, probably. Oddly enough, I found this profile and journal because I'm having my first furry "Species Identity Crisis." Thought I'd never have one. But due to personal reasons I was considering Jayfox as a name because Blue Jay (possible new "alt" fursona?) that used to be a fox. *snicker* There's more to it than that, but personal info and all that.
But yeah, neat to find you here. I think I'll go with another name for the new fursona though, hmm.
