Emergency commissions- parvo!
Okay so I really REALLY don't want to do this but I'm kind of running into a corner as my savings are running out and rent is due and my new puppy was just diagnosed with Parvo.
So I got Starlord on Friday night (and I now realize I'm an idiot and either the guy I got him from- who said he needed a new home due to work commitments or whoever HE got the pup from didn't vaccinate or worm him)... He was fine Friday and Saturday but he started having diarrhea and eating less on Sunday- when I started to worry. Yesterday he stopped eating entirely and was just super lethargic and flat so I took him to the vet. At first we attempted to just treat him for worms and try to get him to eat but a couple hours later and no improvement I took him back in. My vet set him up with some pain medication, anti-diarrheal meds, and a cath line for an IV to save some money before referring me to the overnight emergency vet as I was too worried to keep him at home at this point.
I took him to the emergency vet where he tested positive for Parvovirus. I am devastated and I feel like this is all my fault but I really want to believe he can fight through this.
I picked Starlord up from the overnight vet clinic this morning and took him back to our main vet to continue fluids and monitoring. The e-vet told me he's making progress and he'd perked up a little but he's still very sick. I've not heard anything from my vet since I dropped him off at 8:45 so I'm just hoping no news is good news as they said they'd let me know if there are any changes. He's just continuing fluid treatments and we're really hoping we can get him to eat something- otherwise it's going to be another long night at the overnight vet and possibly a feeding tube (looking at another ~£250). I am really unsure how much more treatment I can afford but I really don't want to lose my pup.
So I'm offering commissions. I know it's shite to do when I barely draw anymore but I'm already working a 20+ hour job and I just don't know what else to do. I would prefer to do traditional art (no backgrounds please) but I would be okay doing some flat-colored digital work. Please contact me if you'd like anything.
PS- I can provide proof of the vet bills I've paid so far if necessary.
