Hey all,
Some of you may be wondering where I’ve disappeared off to and… I’ll do my best to give a bit of a recap. My memory is a teensy bit fuzzy so please bare with me.
After we got back from FWA, I started focusing a lot more on Mattie, we were going for more walks, going to the dog park with
Blasterblurby and Babe, and just worked on getting both of us back into shape. Also I did a little bit of art, from sketching, to photo editing, to concept art, also decided on doing a few pieces for AC’s art show. By the way if you haven’t heard already I shall be at Anthrocon for the first time this year and I am extremely excited to be going. Art wise though thanks to a sinus infection I wound up not getting a whole lot done
May. May was a lets say it was a interesting month. My aunt passed on after a long battle with cancer. While we weren’t close it was a rough time for the family and I’ll leave it at that.
Not too long after that my mom and I went down to Myrtle for my birthday and to get Mattie groomed. That was a pleasant time, we mostly just used the time to relax, enjoy the sea air, catch up with friends and stop in at Alligator Adventure for the first time in a few years. I couldn’t help it, when I found out they had Spotted Hyenas for a limited time I was drawn there like a moth to a flame. Despite the school children it was a good time, I got a lot of good photos and it was just a good way to spend the morning while Mattie got trimmed up for the summer.
Now to follow one highlight with another, for my birthday I got some Footprint insoles and I tell you, I’m in love!. They made a huge difference pretty much instantly. I experienced less pain, everything was in proper alignment, I had more balance, they’re fantastic or as I told my mom. It feels abnormally good!(I’m flat footed and never really wore corrective insoles so it was a new experience for me) I HIGHLY recommend getting yourself some especially if your flat-footed.
Now to touch base on some not so good things that happened during the month that are the reason I haven’t really posted any. I went up to Duke for my next round of Botox for the migraines and… I had a seizure. Thankfully I was sitting in a hospital, sitting within reach of my doctor so I didn’t have to worry about a head injury this time but, it was still a overwhelming experience as usual. Though waking up in the same place I was before helped a lot. After that I was just zapped of energy, could not walk, could not talk, I could barely move, all I could do for a week was sleep. As soon as I was functioning if you could call it that I started drawing a little bit, trying to get my motor functions back and see if I can start working on more important artwork.
Not much got done since the brain fog was bad and it stuck around for a good while. I’m still suffering from it as I write this though it’s eased off a lot. To give a good idea of how much of an annoyance it is I started sewing some beanbags around the 29th and I didn’t finish them till almost the second week of June. Over the month I made an effort to participate in 30 Days of Dinosaurs and I think that helped a lot. Fairly recently I’ve started on a more upward climb productivity wise, I finished some sketches, that badge I posted earlier and worked on one of my art show pieces for AC. I also started getting back in the swing of writing again. If this post seems jumbled I apologize but, now you know why. While I'm mostly back to normal I think I still have a while before I'm all the way back.
One thing I really enjoyed that’s happened this month as well is I got to go to Salem Lake for the first time. It’s such a beautiful park, I can’t wait to go again. Mattie enjoyed it I enjoyed it and for the first time in a good while I didn’t have to pay later for going to the park. For some reason my allergen wasn’t really out there and I loved it. It was a all around great experience.
That’s pretty much where I’ve been. How are you all doing, have a good May? Your June going well? Who all’s going to AC?
