well Im sure the first few will be smut to get the furries by their dicks. Was thinking for the first book of having the basis be "Freshly legal guy whose parents just went out of town for a week trying to have as much fun as possible and solving problems and having fun as he goes".

simple but lighthearted with the premise of trying to cut loose as much as possible in a short of span as possible. Basically a normal fantasy.

I was flip flopping between being as generic as possible for fursona self inserts. Or a rather specific character with traits/personality. Leaning towards the latter atm.

Well, I'd say something that os super common, like a fox, wolf, husky. Bunny is rather commonly seen; so is otter. But not to the extent of foxes and wolves (and seems like hyenas and dingos too). I think a bunny would be good. Beaver. Rat. Weasel. Pika. Panda. Zebra. Gazelles. Wildebeest. Raccoon. Llama. Alpaca. Snow leopard. Tanuki. Kangaroo. Wombat. Polar bear. Just to name a few.

Rat/raccoon sound fun may have to try one of those
