Trump lost the popular vote... or possibly not.

So, how about this; we simply require a picture ID to vote. Yes, voting is a right; but, as the Supreme Court has ruled, there can be 'reasonable restrictions' put in place for other rights, such as the first and second amendments. It certainly seems like taking steps to prevent illegal activity in voting is a 'reasonable restriction' - after all, if you can be restricted from self-defense by not having an ID (among a huge list of other things), why not be restricted from voting by not having an ID?

Huh...
We have mandatory attendance here in Australia. You HAVE to go to a polling booth in your district, and they have a copy of all of the names, and they check your photo ID against your name then cross it off before you can vote.
Voter fraud must be massive over there.
We have a problem with it here, and we HAVE to check photo ID.
I had several friends who would have voted, but they weren't sure how to register. I wouldn't have known how to register if I didn't get my drivers license late enough that they could handle both at the same time.
Here, we have adds and all kinds of letter drops and things like that with information about how to sign up. We still have an issue of... probably hundreds of thousands who haven't signed up to vote yet.
That's interesting. We have a civics class that's required by high school students, but while they express the importance of voting, they don't really touch up on how to register. I think we have a lot of issues like that in our education system.
Oh yeah. In Australia it is mandatory to be signed up, and to attend the voting period. You don't HAVE to vote, you just HAVE to attend. And you have to be registered to do that. We have such an easy system of registration. Just online. They link the info to the state drivers licence and all kinds of things like that. Easy and done.
Do you believe they took away the obligation of a journalism diploma... Because it would hurt the right of free speech?
Man... This is freaking stupid.
