Yasumicon '09

Well another weekend has passed only this time for the better. This past weekend was an anime event in the FIU UP campus near to where I live in Miami called Yasumicon. As usual, I had a fun time going in my Chris Redfield S.T.A.R.S cosplay and enjoyed some of the events over there. At the expo, here is what I obtained from there:
-2 commissions from a friend I met over there and a DA friend here who is SasuNarugirl which her site is http://sasunarugirl.deviantart.com Anyway, her pics she did for me will be posted here in my FA gallery which I'll color.
-1 commission from this artist whose name is Kenny Calderon which I will be posting it in my gallery.
-1 Luigi figurine at the Dealer's Room at the convention.
-1 Tails Plushie also at the Dealer's Room.
Other than that, I went to the Gaming Room where they held a Smash Brothers Brawl tournament. But unfortunately for me, I wasn't able to join in. But I did however played against a player who was really good with Luigi which the same goes for me considering that Luigi is my top fighter. So we decided to have a friendly match of his Luigi versus mine. We both put up a really good fight with 3 stocks for each of us. He managed to get me down to one and I fought back to get him down to 1 as well. Unfortunately, we weren't able to finish it up since he had to get back into the tournament.
As for gaming wise, well nothing new from Nintendo only that this time that the upcoming Wii Sports Resort will have some new minigames included for use with the upcoming Wii Motion Plus peripheral which is already out. I was watching thru one of the videos of some of the minigames it has and the airplane minigame reminds me that of the classic Pilotwings game. Here is the video for it http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mcakia_a2ZQ . You know, they could use the controls for this as a blueprint for the Starfox Wii game which can work for it. Here are my thoughts for it with the Wii Motion Plus. Though the game should let you use the Classic Controller and the Gamecube Controller if you so desire. ^^

Let me know what you guys think of the play control like this for a new SF Wii game. I still have faith that the game will be revealed sooner or later from Nintendo. Who knows? It could show up at the media conference that Nintendo will have later this year in October like what they did last year. In the meantime, in other news in gaming, it has been officially confirmed that the original 7 Koopa Kids will be coming back in the new game for the Wii this November titled New Super Mario Bros. Wii. That is the greatest piece of fanservice that Nintendo has ever done. It's about time that they will be coming back. The last time we saw them was in Super Mario World back in 1991. Though they did made a cameo appearance in the GBA game Mario and Luigi: Superstar Saga. Anyway as I said, more stuff will be on the way in my gallery. ^^

I like your idea for the controller layout on a Wii Star Fox. Like you, I'm waiting for Nintendo to make a new installment in our favorite game series. It's only a matter of time!
I think it would be cool if they used a similar game style from Assult, but expanded on it to have a deeper game play experiance. I like your idea for the on foot missions. While they were fun in Assult, they just didn't have enough depth to them. It was basicly start at point A, get to point B, blow up point B, and then move on to point C.
A cover mechanic that also allowed fire-from-cover would make the shoot outs more epic. Also a little variety in the weapons would help too. Not just the designs, but the functionality of the weapons. Assult's guns all seemed too alike, the difference was in the power of each one.
Well, I've rambled on long enough. Anyway, I like your ideas!
Have a good one!
As for Starfox, I agree with you that it is only a matter of time for Nintendo to finally show it off on the Wii. That series deserves a shot on the Wii. Every major console since the SNES has had at least one and I don't see why they can't do it now. It is one of their most demanded titles on the Wii and one of their most popular like Mario and Zelda. I doubt that Miyamoto and Imamura(brains behind the series) will let it out of their sights that easily. Otherwise, why would they even bother mentioning it 3 years ago? If they would have killed off the franchise which I seriously doubt that they'll do, that would piss off a lot of loyal fans to the series. What they need to understand is that Mario, Zelda and the Metroid series isn't enough for them to save their asses because they won't. We need to see other 1st-party franchises that hasn't shown up yet on the Wii.
Anyway, thanks for the comment there on my ideas for the control schemes for SF Wii. What they can actually do in this game is have a Campaign mode. When you finish playing the Starfox team, you unlock a new feature in which you get to play as the Star Wolf team. It'll be the same story, but from their point of views. What do you think?
