Anthrocon 2017 experience - first furry convention ever
8 years ago
I don't usually write stuff cause I'm lazy! Before reading, just know I am an honest person, I am not mean!
Hey! So to start things off Anthrocon was very fun, I had a good time. The only thing that I hated was the 5 hour drive to Pittsburgh, but other then that it was good. One of the bad things is I had a few problems with my friend (she let someone in the room who she just met to sleep over). We were staying in the Courtyard Hotel. Right when I walked in he asked if he could sleep with me, I replied I'm straight. (Yes I know, a straight furry, shocking). I texted my mom what do you think I should do? (And to be honest my friend isn't really all "there" if you know what I mean, but we all have our problems.) Eventually the guy left after some arguing lol. And being the way she is, takes a bike ride with him at 2am. She's lucky he didn't drive off with her or else I'd be in big trouble with her mom, I tried to stop her, but everything turned out fine. On the way home we argued a bit about what she did, but she doesn't get it, she thinks she does haha. And she hates being called she, (she is TG, I have nothing against it, I'm just used to calling her by who I've known her as since 4th grade).
I met a few other friends with my time there, what sucks is most of them living far away and cannot see them often. I met up with a local furry in NJ (which I'm happy about as it gets boring being the only furry where I live) it's not populated with people my age. He and I are friends and he is known as Maximillian the red fox. We visit each other and have fun, do whatever.
At Anthrocon I witnessed someone had a nosebleed I think, but I don't know why. That was the only injury I saw. The rave was fun, I never been to a furry rave before. But I was sweating a RIVER in my Asriel Fursuit. Dancing and moving around alot really makes you sweat, and I hate the heat when I get too hot. I'm glad the headless lounge was right across from the party. I'd sit there for 30 minutes or more not just when I'm cooled off but because I was thinking "I want to get in my fursuit, but at the same time I don't wana sweat" and I did it anyway!
My furst furry convention was very fun, I did the fursuit parade and more. It was funny when UncleKage asked everyone about something before the parade started "Do you know what that means?" and half of everyone yelled no, so Kage said "You can go screw off" lol.
Even though my tag said "Lex The Crux" I was dressed as Asriel because me and my friend could not finish the crux fursuit in time for Anthrocon 2017. I don't know if it will come out well since she's new to fursuit making but i hope it does. I am going to buy a crux fursuit from another maker as well since we didn't spend much to get the materials.
Does anyone know a good crux fursuit maker by the way? (I asked the red and white cruxes at AC but unfortunately they are not doing commissions. It is too difficult to make them they said, which I understand.) But at the same time I was wondering if it's not only that but cause maybe they want more attention? Like they can make them I know it's a lot of work (I had to stand for 2 hours getting wrapped in duct tape then wait a few days to shape just the head). Thheir crux fursuits look very accurate, alot of people praise them for it, which is why I want one haha. Then again, I've ran into a fursuiter who didn't wana tell how much she spent on her fursuit, that's how you know they spent too much! Everyone else told me and I told them how much I spent for mine. (It was only a partial). At conventions though you get all types of people, the ones that go to have fun, not dressed in anything, the ones that wear something, and the people that wear something that's eye catching for attention and or just bragging showoff. I've seen those people at Bronycon 2015 (I don't think I'll go again as it was boring and the arcade smelled like B.O.)
I'd love a crux fursuit like theirs if possible someday, just link a maker. Other than all that, fun time!!
