It has a lot less to do with how long you've been active as how often you post and give people a reason to visit your page. I racked up 12K views in 7 months, but I also posted well over 300 picture in that time, ran kiriban contests and posted on folks journals and submissions. I also watch a ton of people, and most folks will check out who watches them, so 8K of those are probably people looking to see who just watched them. It takes activity to get activity.

Good advice. But I don't really consider my FA a status symbol... mostly because I am sulking for arriving here so late. I am actually sitting on a TON of content, but I just don't think it's the right -time- to put it up.

Maybe I'm a fool and the time will never come... who knows?

If you're waiting on some special moment where it will bring you sudden fame ... then yes, you are waiting on a moment that will never come because you are waiting for it and not making it.

I agree wholeheartedly with that. You have to be able to get over that "waiting" and just do it. Once you get started you keep going and the rest is history.

I dunno. I'm pretty famous already... I do host the world's largest and most famous furry party. But RL fame doesn't necessarily translate to FA, it seems.

Oh I disagree with that. People hear the name being passed around, see the posters - they talk. Even on SecondLife they've come to us to do live shows from the party. We've been mentioned and even interviewed on numerous podcasts, furry convention blogs...

I'm not trying to say I am a celebrity, but I will say that I am more well known than just about any GoH at any medium-sized con. But that's not really fame. It's not like Heather Bruton or Dark Natasha or SubLevel 03.

But Kage knows my name. Sublevel 03 knows my name. Every major convention chair on this side of the Mississippi (and a few to the West) know me personally and will even do favors to get my party to come.

I'm not trying to brag, I just wanted to point out that being the largest and most established furry party permeates further than one might suspect just by hearing about it. It's similar to fursuiting. I don't care about fursuiting, but I know some of the fursuiter's names because they are talked about (the one that comes to mind most readily is JD - because he's hilarious in suit). I don't care for filking, but I know Sonic Blu is the biggest, etc.

Congrats! If it makes you feel any better, most (if not all) of the view I have are because I watch a lot of people and they happen to visit me because I watched or faved something of theirs. I don't get much people watching me back nor commenting either and I've been on here for a long while (I think more than 2 years). I swear I'm not trying to be emo or whiny, lol.

I'd like to think that most of my pageviews are for my own merit, but I'm not naive either. Most are from commissions I got from other artists, and most of that is the pr0n I got from them.

My own art doesn't draw as many eyes, and I haven't uploaded any of my pr0n. If I ever do, I expect that my pageviews will increase... I just don't think that they are ready yet to be uploaded.
