My sister's child shoved his finger (which was covered in food) into my rat's cage (which I've told them not to let him do SEVERAL times), and got bit. So her boyfriend took my rat and smashed him with a rock, killing him. Mind you, he had to open the cage, take him out, and do it.
Yes, I feel bad about what happened to my nephew, I do, but his 'father' did NOT have to kill my pet, and then boast about it.
I'm not sure what I should do, I feel so broken and sickened and...I just don't know. I just figured I'd ask if anyone knew if you could press charges...

I am sorry you have to go through this, no one should have to go through something that terrible.
I am very sorry that happened. And it shouldn't have. Get back at him legally.
I would definitely look to some sort of justice for your fallen pet! Call your local SPCA/Humane Society.
