needs cat advice
So...my cat is a jerk.
Like, in general. He has been since I got him. He's a bit better than he used to be, but fairly recently he's decided it's a good idea to throw his water dish all over the floor, thus getting water everywhere. He leaves his food dish where it is.
I have no idea why he's doing this. Does anyone know how I can stop it?? Or give me ideas for a dish he can't do this with? His current one is fairly heavy and grippy on the bottom so that it DOESN'T slide over the floor, but this cat still manages to slide/tip it

Joking aside, maybe they're unhappy about something currently and is trying to let you know. Maybe they don't have high enough perches, or they don't like the food.
We have hard water and mine get's pretty upset once there's a small buildup of calcium in it. Cat's are pretty sensitive to changes in their water. Your tap water could also have had a change, maybe buy a few bottles of water for him for a little bit and see if that changes anything?
... I'm available. ♥
Point is, it may just be that your cat needs more love and attention. Cats are very social animals and do require to be snuggled every now and then.
You can also get them at petsmart, or what ever its name is in the states. Here is an image of one: https://imgur.com/a/wlJZY
I suggest the larger one because whiskers.
I've also found that if I don't fill her bowl up too high; only about a inch of water or so; then she doesn't seem to do this behavior (as much) of purposely spilling her water.
She likes to drink running water when she can, so I think that UnregisteredCat has a good point about their instinct to want to drink running water.
We never really found a way to make him stop but after we moved his bowl higher (on top a chest freezer) he's stopped tipping it. Still moves it around from time to time, but has yet to knock it over.
