My little brother, my best friend in the whole wide world was struggling with some neck issues that we took him to the vet for. About 20 minutes later, the vet was telling us he might have cancer.....
Honestly, I'm shattered. I thought that maybe I would have another three good years with him and the vet said at most I would get six months without the surgery. I want to cry, I've been crying and I feel like right now that's all I can do.
As of right now, all I know is Rowdy, my sweet yellow lab, has two Apple sized growths on his liver and spleen. They're about 8 inches across and through he's shown no previous sign of discomfort or inactivity, the vet is very worried that they could rupture his spleen causing him to bleed out internally. She also belives that there is a 60% chance that they are malignant. That being said she gave me three options. The first was to do nothing and euthanize him when the time came, to put him on immune suppressants and steroids, or surgery to completely remove his spleen and remove part of his liver.
We then decided to check his chest. Luckily, it hasn't spread there and he has a good fighting chance....but I can't afford the surgery at 5,000 dollars.
I made a go fund me drive and am thinking about selling Kiri as well as offering art. I'll leave the fundraiser link in the bottom and will be taking art requests, and maybe see if people are interested in Kiri in the comments below.
This is a way to try and save him because I don't know what else to do. He deserves the best, and I know he has the ability to keep being a puppy for another five years if I can make this surgery happen.
