Warning- World of warcraft geeking incoming....
Blizzard announced today that they are finally listening to us players, and bringing out vanilla, or classic warcraft servers!
Oh god, finally!
For years, while I have enjoyed most of the expansion packs, I have missed the old world of Azeroth terribly.
Now at last, I will be able to return to that long lost world that so charmed me many years ago.
And theres a trailer and news about the new expansion- Battle for Azeroth!
No more gloomy, depressing as fuck dark crapsack world shit.
No more demons and burning everything to completely fuck the world...
I'm not into PVP, but an expansion thats finally about Azeroth, and sunny and well lit?
I have been so craving that its not funny.
WoD and Legion were so damned depressing that I played them only out of hope that things would get better.
The constant darkness and green sky/toilet water scenery were getting increasingly hard to tolerate, and I've been letting my account lapse and doing other things for long periods of time just oiut of sheer frustration with it all.
I am hoping that Blizzard learned some valuable lessons from Legion though...And drops such assfuckery as scaling mobs and leveling.
Honestly, the scaling leveling just about killed the game.
It became so hard to level, and so discouraging that many players simply said fuck it and left.
There was no sense of reward- No feeling of accomplishment when the mobs are just as tough, or become impossible to handle when the level scale tier bumped up and exceeded your gear.
And forget leveling alts...It just became too hard and too frustrating to bother.
The super hard leveling didn't help...Blizz needs to tone down the difficulty, not ramp it up.
I like to actually take my time and enjoy my game, not be forced to rush through it in an attempt to escape before being dogpiled by chain-aggroing groups of hostiles....
I would have thought they learned that lesson in burning crusade, since Lich king was so much more pleasant an experience.
Well, I suppose we'll just have to see.
It should be around a year, minimum til the new expac releases. So its going to be a while til we have more data.
So many vids and trailers released today...I am positively giddy over it all and going into ferret shock over the shinies!

Got kind of burned out on raiding at one time, but things like LFR mean that I can raid anytime I want if I can put up with random groups of players who may or many not know what they are doing.
I get to at least see raid content...Though LFR gear levels on loot are pretty crappy.
