So, if you look at my long dormant profile info, you'll see that my favorite artist list includes Macross character designer Haruhiko Mikimoto, and also Rurouni Kenshin author Nobuhiro Watsuki. Back when I was pretending that Sofia isn't my personal character/persona/fursona or whatever, my FA avatar was an imitation of Kenshin going "Oro?" from an early chapter of the Manga.

.... Well, I don't know how to feel about Watsuki now. As it turns out, his home and office were raided by Japanese police. He had a large collection of video tapes and DVDs of child pornography. And it's not like they were old shames - some of those DVDs were purchased LAST MONTH. It disgusts me. In light of the issues with actors, directors, and politicians harassing women, kissing, groping, etc. without consent, the fact that one of my favorite mangaka of all time has gone one step further and fetishized the exploitation of children is a cherry on top of a situation that has resulted in many people I admired turning out to be, if not outright terrible people, then poorly flawed individuals whom I cannot and will not show sympathy to. It guts me. I cannot look at Kenshin, Busou Renkin, etc. in the same light as I did before.
