I've been working overnight at Wal-Mart since early May. The job is tedious and sometimes stressful, and it is by no means what I would like to do with my life but it would be a stretch to say that I hate it. It isn't the worst thing I could be doing, and at least I'm able to afford to pay the rent.
I stayed in a homeless shelter for most of April and all of May and June, doing the best I could not to get sucked into the bullshit drama that the people staying there like to cause. The shelter itself is alright, I would go so far as to say it's pretty great, but the people it houses are largely the scum of the earth.
Moved into an apartment in early July. It's small, there's no air conditioning, and the water contains enough copper that it isn't safe for human consumption, but I have a roof over my head, heat for the winter, and a job to pay for it.
My current plan is to save up as much money as I can and move to Virginia once my lease is up here. A friend is looking into a house, and between him, myself, and  Ashley_Espeon we should be able to afford it easily.
For now, my biggest trouble is getting back our belongings (what hasn't been eaten by mold) from the old place. I'd like to have at least a fraction of my clothes and belongings back.
