Recently I've moved up to New York state and found myself a job, one that I'm not starting till the 4th. Things have been going well up until the other day when the landlord of the person I've been staying with gave him a notice that my dog Connor has to leave. Now I'm not gonna hold it against the landlord, my friends lease does have "no pets" on it. We're not being singled out, every dog owner in the building got this same notice. But it's just really shitty timing to suddenly start enforcing the rule. So I've had to spend the last few days pouring over home and apartment listings, hoping to find a place that's dog friendly and in my price range. I'm quickly learning just how unfriendly landlords are. And I get it, I really do. Animals tend to be rough on a property. But at the same time, it's thoroughly irritating how many places don't get that people are gonna have pets. I just feel like it shouldn't be this hard to find a hole in the wall where i can live with my mutt.
The other thing making this hard is the start date of this new job. I've known that I have it for over a month now, closer to two months at this point. In the mean time I've been doing commission work to stay afloat. And while I'm eking by right now, I've got no savings left, certainly not enough for a security deposit on a place, and I won't have a paycheck until midway into December. I feel like I'm a step away from beating my head against the desk and saying "Done." I'm just tired of life being so dead set on standing in my way of just being able to breathe a sigh of relief.

Dogs especieally have been dubbed "mans best friend". They help with stress and are always there to keep you company when you need it most.
Damage is damage no matter what. Its gonna happen no matter what. And 9 times out of 10 dog owners will happily fix andy scuffs the dogs make.
And these are all people I've seen in my time at this property.
Dogs may be man's best friend, but not all of man deserve dogs.
