Well...today we had to put my mother's dog Harley down. He was 12 1/2 years old and the only one of his litter that survived, and he was the runt of the litter of all things. He was a small maltese that was maybe 2 or 3 pounds on a good day and would want to fight anything that was bigger than he was. He would always greet my mom at the door and protect her even when she didn't need any protecting....he was a good dog...
