updates re: 2018 cons + commissions

hello everyone! apologies, once again, for the continued radio silence on here. i won't go into it, but there's been a lot happening IRL and in my personal life that's kept me significantly less active on most social media; currently, i'm much more active on my tumblr (1floweredcrown) and instagram (onefloweredcrown), so if you'd like to see what i've been up to, that's the best place to go! you can also reach me on twitter, at 1floweredcrown; those are currently the best avenues through which to get a hold of me, although i do still try to check FA every few days!
2018 conventions
sadly, due to IRL circumstances i've decided to withdraw from tabling at FC in january. i'm really bummed about it -- FC is in my hometown, and i've been applying for a few years and was SO excited to finally be accepted, but i'm simply too backed up with owed work & not at the mental health level needed to prepare for a convention of that scale at the current time. i'd prefer to focus on myself & on getting work out ASAP.
HOWEVER!! i HAVE been accepted as a dealer at BLFC 2018 in may! it'll be happening RIGHT after i graduate from college, and with luck this will provide me with plenty of time to get my work caught up & to get my life back together in... general... i'll be sure to keep everyone posted!
commissions
commissions HAVE been getting done, but at a significantly slower pace than i'd like to be at. this has lead to a lot of delays, which i didn't anticipate and would like to apologize for. after finals this week, i'd like to resume work on getting commissions done ASAP, and as always, you're more than welcome to note me or message me on any of my social media platforms regarding your commission at any time; you can also check my progress in my queue, linked on my profile, which i keep consistently updated as i finish work.
new commissions slots are currently closed while i catch up on work. i occasionally open spots for sketches on twitter to work on inbetween larger commissions, but other than that, don't expect any large scale openings to happen until a little ways into 2018.
where i've been
my absence on here has largely been due to financial stress and emotional stress IRL and in my personal life. although on a lighter note, i did get to go on my first vacation in forever over the course of my birthday weekend; i was able to go with two of my best friends to see hamilton in LA, and it was an absolutely amazing experience. so happy and lucky that i was able to save up and snag spots for it, i don't get to go to big things like that often and it really made my 24th birthday a treat. (michael luwoye, our hamilton, held up a piece of artwork my friend john and i did for the show.... i nearly died)
i got back from my trip last night, and jumped straight back into going to work as of this morning, aaaand this week is my finals week so. LOTS TO DO.
what to expect!
12/16 - end of finals; commission work resuming at this time
12/17 - 1/1 - IDEAL time period during which all commission work will be caught up. will post updates on this estimation if it changes.
1/4 - the start of my second big vacation, travelling to seattle to visit a friend of mine who's visiting the states all the way from australia!
1/15 - beginning of my last semester of college; i'm starting work on our school's 2 yr film project this semester, so that will likely take up most of my time.
2/1 - 2/14 - ESTIMATED time where i'll be opening for larger commissions again. this is just a tentative date atm.
3/1 - ESTIMATED time where i'll be opening for BLFC commission pick ups. again, very tentative.
mid-march - over spring break i'll likely be visiting friends in socal again, not sure on exact dates yet.
5/4 - i graduate! hopefully.
5/10 - BLFC!!!!
that's what the beginning of 2018 looks like so far! during this time i'd like to be working on merchandise ideas as well, so that'll be scattered around during these dates as well.
i've already mentioned my other social media sites, but you can also check out my youtube channel (1floweredcrown), where i've been beginning to post little videos and animatics and such! i'd like to pursue that more seriously in the future, but for now it's just something i'm doing alongside my regular art and commissions.
AND.... I THINK THAT'S IT! i hope the end of everyone's years have been going well, and i look forward to sharing my work with you all more consistently in 2018! <3
