Hello New Followers / Patreon / Working Hard
8 years ago
So with Midwest furfest over and done with I can get back to work!
Unfortunately MFF wiped me out way more than I expected it too and last week ended up being more of a recovery week than a work week. I do apologize for the delay but I am now back at it.
I want to thank
for being so awesome and getting the room and for a wonderful birthday as well as
for being an excellent table neighbor in the dealer's den <3

Patreon
It's sad that Patreon, over time, has just gradually gotten worse and worse and their answers to our major complaints have been actions that do... well.. nothing.
My current pledge tiers are $1, $3, and $5 a month and while the additional cost isn't necessarily that big in the grand scheme of things I know that many of you subscribe to many other people and that cost can add up quite a bit.
Patreon has just been another way for me to help make a sustainable living. I certainly don't make enough from that to be able to make a living which is why I take on commissions. Until Kickstarter's new program is open to the public ( and proves itself to be far more effective than Patreon) I'll continue to use it. I do hope you all will continue to subscribe - if you already do.

Hello New Followers
Hi everyone! this is long overdue as my watch counter shows that I have 128 new followers.
Thank you so much for following me. I'm incredibly busy and it's very difficult to thank everyone individually for the follows. But I am grateful nonetheless. Without your support I could not do this for a living.
So followers new and old - thank you so much <3

Downside is, for doing a pledge system like Patreon, you have to manually send out an invoice every month and there is no minimum price you can charge. Since you need their email to send invoices, you can easily set up email groups to send out their rewards. You can even set up discounts that you can put into invoices so you can give people a discount for being loyal.
I believe they are currently running a discount deal on Quickbooks that costs $10/month for the first 6 months, then $15/month after that for what you would use it for. I tried using the Self-Employed version, which I got a free year of, but it doesn't have all the options needed, so I upgraded to the Simple Start version and I have all the tools I need. The main difference between the 2 versions that made me switch was the option to provide refunds. Self-Employed does not allow you to issue refunds, but Simple Start does.
Another good feature of it is the integration of taxes. It can automatically calculate your tax obligation and generate the forms you need.
This is just a suggestion of what you can use instead of Patreon. If you are able to generate enough to pay for it with extra to spare, it might be worth it.
