As excited as I am to see this, I'm afraid there are two problems preventing me from playing the game... the first is that everything I did when making a new character was cleared (all stats reset to 4 and name set to "name here"), and second is that saving doesn't appear to work (I click the button and nothing happens)
I'm having exactly the same problem here, although if a move some time over the map i'm able to save the game but the name and stat problem is still persistent.
You can only save on the map screen at this time. I'm planning some changes to that.
I've updated the game with a hotfix to 1.1 the stat problems should be fixed in that one. You can download it from the same blogpost. I'm currently working on 1.2 to fix the save game problem and other issues.

Wouldn't mind if the location detection was extended to the movement circles around you like a vision radius. Have to rapidly click all over the place to hit every little circle is kinda tedious. It's good for secret locations I guess, but still.
I've played a bit more of this and peaked at the game files, and it would seem that Taulsol has a bunch of content at the pier that doesn't seem to be accessible. Trying to talk to him just spawns his portrait and nothing more.
It's deliberately cut content. I had throw some weight off to hit the (embarrassingly extended) deadline. There's a lot of cut content for other characters as well. I'm not sure much of it is in the game files atm. I'm planning to add all of it back in at some point.
So I'm guessing the Witch's home is basically the only location. On another note, only bug I've experienced is that she had a Dialogue loop problem with no way to escape it once you are able to ask about the other visitors.
You can move around the map by using the numpad keys or by clicking the blue circles around the green circle (the player position). There's a lot more. I've fixed the witch dialogue for 1.2
Perhaps indicators, like when you hover the mouse over the witch house, would be beneficial for the player to know those are indeed things you can mess with.
Also, found a bug, when you talk to the Witch and ask her about the others that came through, you can't leave the convo. Theres no dialogue option to end the talk to get back to former topics.
It does. I found another one tho. Talking with the caterpillar, asked about religion and his pendant, and he gets flustered and says he should get a Gurus help, and the game got stuck. There was no dialogue option to advance, so the screen is stuck on that dialogue.
Also, can't talk to Taulsoul, the fish guard. I can select talking to him on the pier, but no dialogue triggers.
Okay. Will try. Other question. Finished the Shyni cave quest, we hooked up...but now shes nowhere to be found? Can you meet her again, or is she gone now?
I guess what I am asking is, if there is a way to further that relationship, or replay the Sauna fling, or if you get one fling and then she is missing forever?
Oh damn, you have an update already?
Well, then not all of these errors I've found is of any interest as they have been fixed. But... https://puu.sh/zd8tJ.zip
Here you go, some of the errors that might be interesting to check out and I also noticed a journal mentioning the cuoxur needs to have a sexual dimorphism. I got a suggestion that might appeal.
This is excellent. These screenshots reveal me many things.
But.. What insane compulsion made you want to play fullscreen? The game assets are pretty low res at 1280 x 720. The originals are authored at 2560 x 1440.
-Braq tail lifting is fixed in 1.3
-No idea what's going on with "boobs", probably some sort of a copy paste edit error.
-"This is" nice reveals two errors. The scene is also supposed to have a picture on it.
-Yeah, the quotation marks are off there.
-It looks like the text going off the black box is caused by the aspect ratio of your screen. I've never tested different aspect ratios, huh.
-Taulsol should be fixed in 1.3
-That Poh-ack tone error is actually something I was supposed to edit away ages ago. There are mixed writers in some scenes so style and tone might vary.
-The battle UI disappearing when fighting the Niird is frigging bizarre. I can't find a straightforward reason for it either. Must investigate
-Niird doesn't have new interaction. I kinda cut it to rush the game. I will be adding it in at some point tho.
-The opponent sliding away bug is fixed in 1.3
-The mouseover info box number floating is a good catch. I will be renovating the mouseover boxes in the near future.
-Going over the deck limit is actually feature :D As stupid as it sounds. If you have less than the deck limit the missing cards are randomized from your card inventory but making your deck really large increases uncertainty what kind of cards you draw. Some enemies could require very specific cards types, etc... Or so I fantasize.
It seems you've been victimized by the save game corruption fairy, If you made more than one save in 1.0 and 1.1 all saves would get absolutely scrambled. I think the odd scene transitions and missing options are actually caused by it. This should be fixed in 1.3
That sexual dimorphism thing is actually part of a (work in progress) quest with Miggpli. What's your idea?
How'd you like the game (apart from the buzzing of the bugs)?
I wear glasses, so when I play a game with low res in full screen I can just take them off and BOOM! Screen sharp as a katana.
Or I had a difficult time hitting the smaller circular area on the over world map with my mouse and simply made them a little bigger with the full screen option.
So you can go above the card numbers but that'll minimize what options you get. That's an interesting game mechanism. I like that. I wouldn't mind see you in the future come up with some wildlife creature with tough shell/rock-ish skin that require you to hit it with some kind of weapon, like a mace or hammer. Not everything can be hit with a panicked slap so why shouldn't you be able to do that?
Ah, so multiple saves did it it. Good to know.
Oh, it's a quest with Miggpli? Didn't get that part but maybe you'll get some use for it anyway, so this is my thought: After battling against those cuorux I started to see similarities between them and shrimps or lobsters. They may not have as many legs as the cuorux but they still have quite a few under their abdomen. However the female have more pair of legs than the male. That's because she uses those extra legs when she carries around on her fertilized eggs when she swims around in the ocean. Cuorux don't live in water though but I can see the female carry their slimy egg (?) with their extra legs.
Here is a fun fact for you too: Shrimps get their eggs fertilized in their heads. So if you eat shrimps and you find that green stuff in their head I'll tell ya, it ain't its brain, it's the unfertilized eggs. And where does fertilization occur on the cuorux again? Coincidence?
And now, for the part you have been waiting for. My thoughts of the game.
gg
It's a great game and I love the bizarreness of it. Exotic environments. A world where there is no easy matter to know if the one in front of you is a biter or a talker. Unlocking new content based on your stats. I had trouble finding Breirb because you said under 'pro tip:' that we shouldn't use any points on perceptions since it is a trash stat. You dirty liar.
By the way, do you plan to do a walkthrough or chart or anything for the game? It's probably easy to miss something that you would like to see but never even got a chance to know it's there because you don't have the right stats. The game "corruption of a champion" from fenoxo had options grey scaled with a hint above if you couldn't choose that for now, so that you know what you need to do if you want to unlock it. Not saying that you should do the same way, I like it hidden, secrets is good to have. Just consider having a character bios or something, nothing in game of course, so we players can search for what we are missing. The game is going to be pretty big after all.
btw you can move around the map using the numpad keys, it's a lot easier for your hand.
The miggpli quest is not in the game yet, I will probably put it in for 2.0
I've been thinking about hinting at stat hidden dialogue options. I'm not entirely sure how to implement it (code and otherwise) but I will look into it.
I will definitely expand the combat system. It's extremely bare bones at the moment. I have plans for it.
(Overall an entertaining game, even despite the bugs. Look forward to its improvement, expansion and new art/scenes. Well try to report bugs if I find any not mentioned already. Good Job =3 )
I found a bug, when you go after the sex scene with Bykaas to the counter there are still the options from the entrance of the tavern. it looks like this: http://prntscr.com/i84git ,
Fantastic, man!
We look to helping you more with this.
This took many years to come to life, Mean.
Here's to more years in making it that much better.
Stay Burning!
Question, can a male char romance Taulsoul? I tried various dialogues, and my char has fairly high charisma, yet I can't seem to romance him. So I assume he not one of the two same-sex options?
Taulsol's m/m scene was one of the cut things (to hit the release date). There's an unfinished scene in his dialogue files. I intend to reintegrate the cut content in 2.0 which includes many m/m scenes.
So... I should have posted at the release but... things happened.
It was worth the wait, at the very least! I loved the demon(although I only checked it up to 1.3). The gameplay is very unique and original if you ask me. Although it could be very tiresome to travel later on when the fool man will be released. But... i'm ok eith that)))
So far my favorite mob is niird... in terms of anatomy o.O
As for tge characters... cave barnacle creature - you have one hell of tough names! - and I can't wait to see this character expanded!
As I'm late to the party, every bug I encauntered was already fixed or reported, so I don't have much to say. Yet.
I know it's kinda greedy of my, but how ofted do you intend to update the game. I'm not asking for a hard date :)
Finally figured out how to move, love the random encounters, the dialogue branches, all of it.
The beast in the sea cave is awesome.
Quick question, after Shylia (forgot the spelling, the smith's daughter) has the rendezvous with you in the sauna, is she un-findable at the moment or is she in hiding and I just didn't find her yet?
I LOVE the bestiary classification.
Sadly I think there is a dialogue loop flaw with the Sand Worm Runners when you try to get close to them as you never get close.
You out did yourself and I love every facet of this.
Will there be a way to improve your stats in later builds?
I chose to build a characters that was more witty and perceptive, not so much for combat, and when combat was the only option for a few things, I was at a severe disadvantage.
Oh, and as for the giant water serpent in the barnacle cave, when I lost the fight, it gave me the "retreat" dialogue option and now it vanished and won't show up. I cant' even ask the barnacle to summon it again.
Just got a chance to play a bit; haven't gotten far in yet, but its been good so far. Would be nice if the dialogue faded in and out quicker, but that could easily be because I'm running it in VirtualBox.
Works just fine under VirtualBox, if probably a bit slow. (Windows is always slow in VirtualBox, so there's probably not much to be done there.)
I noticed the click to advance, but I also managed to accidentally click a dialogue option doing so; I can be careless that way. Still, enjoyable game and I'm definitely looking forward to seeing it progress.
Hi, I've just downloaded and played your game and from what I've played so far I love it Great job! I did however found a bug when you talk to Shyni the dialog option '' A man in my situation really shouldn't pass on fee info'' it still says man even when you play as a woman. Also, i have to know will there be any impregnation in this game? A few NPCs seem to think its a possibility.
Hey! I think you sent me a note about this and I fixed it for 1.12. It's been a hectic so far. There will be impregnation in the game, what shape it takes, I'm not entirely sure yet.
Impregnation could be an interesting way for a relationship to build with specific characters. If the Player is Male, I'd have it be something that would be a check of some sort when you follow a story encounter with a character far enough.
Shyni, for example, seems the closest to "human" in terms of biology and it could be that wooing her successfully would even make a scenerio where she does become pregnant (perhaps after one more encounter after the sauna), then you have to convince her father not to try and kill you and you're going to take good care of you.
Could also lead to a dilemma of "do you WANT to leave?" later on.
When you get to work on the Sand Herons, I'll be VERY happy to help with dialogue options and some stat checks.
I just read your latest blog post, and I want to say thank you so much for not giving up on this project! I've been looking forward to this game literally from the day you announced its existence, and what you've managed to create strikes me as a solid foundation for a great game. I can't wait to see what's hiding in the world beyond the peninsula, and I'm very much looking forward to seeing the M/M content.
I haven't done so in a while. Last time I done actionscript 3 was for some flash animations. I've been meaning to get back into game making, but I always get side tracked for one reason or another.
By the way, you can reduce the image's file size while keeping the image visuals and size by saving as PNG-8. This definitely helps with the environment images since they're a meg each.
Hey this was actually super helpful. I originally dismissed PNG-8 because of it's poor alpha channel but there seems to been some improvement on that side and Photoshop PNG-8 export is excellent in quality and reduces the file size greatly. Thanks, this will be very helpful with increased resolution in later builds.
From the 1.12 update we can see that players/contributors can now write passive/defensive-type ferals. What about aggressive ones? Will there be such ferals? Will they have special scenes for player's loss in battle - passive/defensive ones don't have any.
I would assume they would try to kill (and eat) the player after player loses a fight? I guess you're asking in a roundabout way if there will be animals that rape the player after a fight?
If there are animals that do try to hump the player, player can just oblige them without fighting. I will be encouraging players to win all the fights they come across so intentionally losing fights doesn't become a thing.
There's also other things that mess up the idea of feral raping the player. The player is always assumed to be clothed unless otherwise specified, so the feral would have to be exceptionally smart to undress the PC and if the player character is raped, it's not going to be very sexualized scene because the player didn't want this outcome, so giving a reward (a sex scene) for it, is counterproductive.
So, here we have a confimation of bad ends after a fight, good to know.
Actually, it wouldn't be counterproductive, if you have the scenes for both battle results. Just look at Flexible Survival, it has scenes for both winning and losing fights and also bad ends. Losing a fight results in 0 xp(unless tge player has "submissive" trait which give 1/2 the amount of xp for winning said fight. IF I remember correctly).
Besides, you otgerwise limit players to just raping or dominating(don't know where to put braq scenes) others. Personally, I prefer to play submissive characters rather than dominant ones :)
You could just submit to the creature trying to hump you rather than fighting it. Which results in a scene where the creature fucks you and the player character enjoys it (because he wanted it).
The game understands you trying to defend yourself from a sexual advances as not wanting it and therefore presents the outcome as not desirable. The writing in the game is trying to unify the player character motivations with the player motivations.
Well, I hope we will see some info updates in the coming monthly patreon post. At least tell on what you're exactly working right now? :) a bit more details you know? Fans are starving ;)
That's good to hear. If I'd knew about this I wouldn't write the previous comment in the first place :P
And I'm not pushing you, to clear things up. I love this game of yours, I really do. But the info updates are pretty rare and when they do happen they are not very informative. I remember you said that you're not very good and keeping in contact or something like that. Yet, such updates are very important - they will keep old users interested and will attract new ones. Win-win.
Personally, I've waited for the first demo for several years! I just don't want to wait a few more ;)
Woo! Year already off to a good start!
I've updated the game with a hotfix to 1.1 the stat problems should be fixed in that one. You can download it from the same blogpost. I'm currently working on 1.2 to fix the save game problem and other issues.

I wonder tho, is there more to do with Naiad than a kiss right now, or is that the most intimate thing you can get out of her for now?
