Escape the Con v0.8
I’ve updated Escape the Con to have new features and be more stable (I make no promises about mobile support, but it works on my android phone if I use Chrome)
http://bluesquirrel.org/game/escape/index.html
Your objective is to reach the bottom floor and leave the hotel. Find and wear clothing and wield hotel items to beat the furries in your way.
Changes in this version
Three new enemy types, with their own tfs and good/bad endings. Bears, boars, and the terrifying dragons
The game is now a little fairer. Strong enemies will spawn less often in the early floors.
Item drops are better in higher number floors, to give you an incentive to explore dangerous regions
Medicine can now spawn if you search sinks (because medicine cabinets over the sinks). Medicine can heal HP, reduce corruption, or increase stats…at a terrible price!
Some items are now useable if you have them in your inventory, with the use button or “a” on the keyboard. Kettles can be filled at sinks, boiled at cabinets, and then thrown at enemies. Spray bottles can be used to spook off enemies.
If you can, please try it out and let me know if you experience any bugs or difficulties

FA+

nothing otherwise
For example I found out that the character I was using for the guard dog (╚) wasn't available on Chrome properly
chairs and rocks help a lot :D
rabbits are kinda cruel on starting but they die fast enough. i expected the new npcs and specially dragons to take more hits considering lowest floor and all. i gotten dragon ending, rat ending (just one body part =( ), and fox ending. wolves are scary on bottom floor, kinda fast like rabbits but no attacking twice business rabbits do.
kettles are very interesting, nearly one hit ko's. foxes survived so far lol...
the med to recover corruption is nice, i want to explore to get them in order to properly find the helpful npcs... takes quite a while to explore so i end up skipping to bottom floor. i'm pretty sure i can survive now though if i tried going through each floor.
Yet he doesn't accept. So, am I doing something wrong?
Is there any way to zoom the map in a bit? The area you can see is not that far really, and the icons are just so, soooo tiny for my not so great old eyes. I would love to be able to zoom in or out if desired.
It's extremely hard to tell what is covered and by what, and even more so to actually carry extras as inventory seems extremely limited split between so many armor spaces, quest items, weapons and food items. And would be really good if clothing could take more than one hit depending on what it is. It's very frustrating when it feels like all spots are covered, and you get attacked just once and it hits that one spot that isn't covered that you thought was. After all roller skates should take way more damage than a pair of socks. Rofl
So my suggestions would be: To make food more effective at filling you up, so we don't have to carry quite as much of it. *I feel I get hungry way too fast and food isn't good enough, I had to eat a whole melon for one level?* Status screen that says something like Feet : (Covered by (Socks, durability 1 etc) Would love to reinforce gear. After all why wouldn't I wear three pairs of socks and 4 shirts at once if it gave more protection. I can envision a person wearing a t-shirt, blouse, sweater, vest combo in that order. It doesn't help when you have them all in your inventory, you need to wear em! hahaha!
Less body parts to cover would actually be good Head, Chest, Legs, Feet, Arms. Groin is fun, but I found it odd they could change my exposed groin while I was wearing a pair of pants. lol
I don't feel that HP plays any significant role, *other than starving to death* since all they have to do is touch an exposed spot once and you are already screwed. Maybe it should give some resistance to change? I feel your clothes are your hp, and not yourself really.
I have a feeling that the game has grown since it's original starting version with a lot more items having been added *which is good!*, inventory is now a problem it just feels like a nasty slog *which is bad*. I would highly suggest increasing the inventory space a lot, having stack-able same items, or adding things like backpacks that you find that increase your overall capacity.
The only bug I saw so far is when you equip a weapon it makes some really weird symbols next to it *shaped like the bunny, wolf etc icons but solid color* Didn't really effect gameplay though so I would just ignore it.
Overall though it's pretty fun game! The npc interactions are fun, *would love things to do things to them, maybe there is some and I haven't found them yet though* and the writing is great! Would love to see some cute lady furs in the mix eventually, but that is really totally up to you. *laughs* I look forward to what new things you add in the future!
Thank you for sharing it! ^^
How do I eat? I pressed SHIFT+E, I pressed the EAT button, but nothing worked. It's the same for trying to equip weapons/clothes. Clothes just seem to auto-equip after a battle. I'm happy being Hungry and Starving didn't kill me before enemies did.
