mystery solved!

its as banal as can be, really...

what we see is actually ice. snow collected on the clothesline above, thawed a bit, froze solid, and as a bird jumped on it, it fell down. since the line is relatively long, it makes a bow towards the hook hanging from the balcony's edge above, about where the snow line ends, which explains the "broken track"; that comes from short pieces of ice tumbling down. the rest was just one solid piece of ice.
the fact it's not laying directly underneath the line, where thawed droplets could leave a track, threw me off.
but hey, everybody had a good time trying to eruate what has caused this. :) so, there.

especially the ones crossing it at nearly right angles that look a whole lot like wabbits.
(the ones that don't look like cats, small dogs or foxes)
even though we live at the outskirts of a small town a good bit away from any big city all we got are stray cats and martens. foxes don't seem to see a point on straying around, the wire fences don't leave enough gaps. and the gardens around along with agricultural places don't offer enough food for anyone else, including insects.
I'm glad that the mystery is unraveled. it was still fun.
