2018: Where am I again?
Time for the annual-ish update of what I'm doing and where I am. Ready, set....
Life & Living Arrangements
Oh man, 9 years in the Air Force is already sneaking up on me. My time in Florida is already on the horizon behind me as I live my life in another country, off the base and among a whole different group of people. In case anyone is unaware at this point, I relocated out to Tokyo, Japan back last July. That's right! This lizard is living it up in the land of the rising sun! I now work a new, unique, exciting new job as a traveling field engineer, assisting with on-site technical support for embassies throughout most of southeast Asia/Oceania! For someone who has lived his entire life inside the continental states, this is a new, daunting experience. It is so rewarding though! Frequent travel to foreign countries for short periods of time on the Government's dime? Hell yes!
I have settled in fairly well at this point, and feel largely functional despite the language barrier. Definitely have to work on improving my Japanese so I can really get involved. I want to make friends out here~!
On the furry front, I continue to try to commission artwork sporadically. I am also looking into various conventions, particularly the larger ones in Australia and here in Tokyo. Feel free to hit me up if you have any info or are looking for potential roommates at these!
Gaming
I primarily PC game in recent times. By no means does this mean I avoid consoles, however.
My current rig:
Specs:
Core i7 6700k @ 4.4 GHz
ROG Maximus VIII Hero Mobo
Kingston HyperX Savage 16GB DDR4 RAM @ 2400 MHz
NVidia GTX 1080Ti
1TB+ SSD/2TB HDD
Win7 Forever
Just a handy note for anyone skimming through titles I have recently played, if I didn't specify a username it is OrangeBlueZ, such as with most the titles on Steam.
Some titles I frequently play as of this time:
Elder Scrolls Online
Yes, I caved in the face of a hunger for lore and ES goodness, and so I jumped off the ESO hate train to give it a firsthand look. It is without a doubt a generic MMO theme park painted in Elder Scrolls colors, and yet, it has done a fantastic job of actually giving me what I am looking for. If you play solely for immersion, you might be disappointed, but go in with low expectations and you might find yourself surprised. I initially went in looking to get into black marsh and check out my species' homeland, and found myself craving more by the end of it. Now I'm loose all over Tamriel, seeing all sorts of exotic locations and having a great time socializing with awesome people in the process. I primarily play nowadays for the deep and strategic PvP scene.
The game is Buy2play, and with a sub you can play any and all DLC zones for the subscription period. Any of you who were dubious by the initial reception and find yourself in the same place as I was, spend a few bucks and give it a shot. You might find yourself surprised with everything the game has to offer. Vvardenfell (Morrowind) DLC released last year, and Summerset Island is just ahead on the horizon!
Overwatch
I have recently started a return to Overwatch upon the release of the latest new hero and have found myself enthralled with the polished FPS once more. I dont think there's much to say that even casual gamers dont know; It's Blizzard, it's good! BattleTag - OrangeBlueZ#1197
Dauntless
I feel it necessary to bring attention to this Western developed Monster Hunter-esque title. The game is presently in open beta and is advertised as free to play. Though eclipsed by the recent release of MH World, I remain excited to see something that features the same core gameplay style of Monster Hunter and combining it with modern PC fidelity and tight controls. I can say with confidence that this is a game worth keeping an eye on.
Monster Hunter World
Anyone whop knows me knows I love Monster Hunter as much as Elder Scrolls, and I have played basically entry of the series to date. Monster hunter World is THE game to get if you've ever liked the past games or have been looking into trying it for the first time! Capcom has done an outstanding job giving the game the level of graphical and mechanical polish it needed to break out of the Japanese Audience and take off as a smash hit worldwide. I have played the game since launch extensively on the Playstation 4 and plan on moving to PC the second it comes out! If you ever want a seasoned hunting vet or someone to help show a fledgling hunter the ropes, I am your guy! PSN: OrangeBlueZ
GreatSword Master Race representing >:3
VR - HTC Vive Pro
VRCHAT - Yeah, just like many others I showed up among the meme boom over the holidays to satisfy my curiosity. Having a VR headset improved the experience considerably. Now with privacy and friends only instances the fervor has died down quite a bit. I managed to make several friends within the furry and anime communities that thrive there. It feels, well, a lot like Second Life, only with no transactions to make within game. The engine feels familiar, but the models, scaling, and built in mechanics feel fresher. Everything is community generated, and its all free. You dont even need VR to play it! I will add that being able to headpat cute anime girls and hug waifus and furries alike in the realm of VR is magical~! Desktop users are missing out!

Still, glad to hear things are going great for you! Whenever MH World gets released on PC, I wouldn't mind playing on there if you don't mind the idea of double dipping!
(and yeah, sorry for the long time no talk... I'm still working on that, now that I'm trying to better my own life)
