We're In A Tough Spot
Looks like our complex's management company decided not to renew our lease on the bullshit basis that one of our dogs makes people walking past the back porch uncomfortable because he barks at them.
They've been looking to get rid of us from day one anyways since the new management company took over last year. They've been renovating the complex a lot, raising rent prices through the roof, and we're one of the last hold-outs that have been here for over four years with no upgrades or anything.
So they are telling us we need to be vacated by the last day of May.
I'm trying to look in to alternatives, and also the laws regarding deposits. After four years of normal wear and tear, I'm not sure how much they are able to keep of our deposit, if any, and especially not for the sake of their own inevitable renovations.
Either way...fuck me...
We don't have the kind of finances to be making a move elsewhere right now, particularly in terms of paying a rent, deposit, possible pet deposits, moving costs, and all that stuff.
We're both going to be speaking to our families about helping up out financially in this situation, but it's no guarantee they can help much, if at all.
If any of you can and want to help us out, you're able to, and any help would be extremely appreciated. I'm not asking or demanding that anyone does, though. It's just a consideration. I would love to take on some emergency commissions, but I already have a long queue of overdue commissions to get done, and adding to the workload would mean a long wait for everyone, especially with being so busy with a wonky schedule at my job, so I'm not sure if it would be smart to do so.
If you do want to help us out, however, you can send any amount here: https://ko-fi.com/A23473S
