I am rather confused as well, but this person was known and watched by Boopeep and a friend of their's, and it is confirmed that they have, in fact, stolen Glider's art, and edited it to look like a slightly different Longthing..

I am working with everyone as we speak to try and get my character back! Again, their account is terminated, and they are banned/blacklisted from the Dainty and Longthing species

hng i had not known of their previous actions, so i didnt and wouldnt have known that they were already seen to have done something bas such as stealing other's work...
But im glad things are starting to get worked out and that they took immediate action!

Someone alerted me about them and I talked to them about it and they said they had recieved a fake via DA. So... Now I’m worried they were lying to me and are going to try to pawn my longthing off... again.;;;

They might have lied, as they also lied about the origin and pricing of the fake Longthing that they gave to me..
I would do your absolute best to keep an eye on that character of yours!

I caught them using commissioned art (i commissioned it as a gift for a friend) as their TH icon and when confronted about it, they claimed they didn't know the source, and that "a friend showed it to them".

Given that the piece was labeled a gift, and not for free use, i was squinting real hard at them.

There was someone who had a longthing that in the original toyhouse description had something about an unfinished longthing.. So they went ahead and finished it?? I should have taken screenshots? But.. Idk their case... I'm just setting this here incase that wasn't the case?

I didn't see it myself but I'm aware that Corvus has been stolen. I have never put any of these guys up for trade/sale and so if they show up elsewhere they have been taken from my toyhouse or Glider/Boopeep's galleries.

I remember seeing corvus in the person's gallery but the only part that looked badly edited was the feet./...
so idk where this person got it but they also had the peri art piece up...which is odd???

This is one of the worst parts of the whole issue for me - I want people to be able to freely enjoy their Longthings because that's what they're for, but it's near impossible to do when everybody has to worry about if their character is going to be stolen or not.

Yeah I saw the cs being sold on da and showed a few friends because I was just blown away by how blatant the whole thing was...and because i saw some people newer to the adopt community buying.

I would like to say, I do hope you open up MYO at some point because as someone who has wanted one of these noodles for years I would really love to be able to legit have one since it's so so hard atm to trade for them. Thank you for the PSA though, I've been scammed before buying stuff and I appreciate this info.

The sad part of this whole thing is that I do actually have a base made and ready for a surprise noodle MYO (since I knew it had been heavily requested) that I had planned to do, but coming back to this whole mess has me really discouraged about the integrity of people and really makes me not want to make it worse with the chaos of a MYO since it would basically be putting a base out in public :(. I have a lot of people to try and work out fakes vs originals with right now, and I feel so bad for the people who have been scammed.

I would still like to host this event eventually, but I think it will have to wait a little bit until I can try to sort out the loose ends of what's happening now. Thank you for support during all of this!

well I def hope to get one when you do - I had mentioned how much I hoped you would eventually open up MYO slots in the future since I adore these babs but you've seemed so busy lately. I'm glad to know that at least others are aware of the copied cs - it REALLY bothers me to see people doing this. I know everyone wants to have popular closed species and that some cs which are harder to get are really desired for appearance as well but...this isn't okay...

Maybe a masterlist like some cs have? I def get the whole thing is stressful and I feel awful for anyone who has been scammed or bought a fake/stolen character. I dealt with someone selling me an already owned character about a year ago and only found out after I had invested extensive time rping them/drawing/getting art of them. It was devastating :<

At first look this one seems authentic, aside from being HIGHLY pixelated, but something looked off to me, and so I threw the image into SAI and found something interesting:

When I overlaid the TH image with the original posted here, you can see there are a few spots where markings are different. (More than just these, but I just highlighted three) After looking through the others posted in custom batches, I noticed that the markings on Panfe's match up almost perfectly, as seen here: https://i.imgur.com/HuOrNc5.png

I don't know if Sidle (Idlekotake > Sidle > entropy-king) ever sold this Longthing, as I haven't been in contact with them for years, but I know they'd never have edited the original in such a way. Someone somewhere along the lines got a hold of one or both images and sort of overlay-spliced them together, possibly to cover up the pixelation of using a lower res image they stole?

Idk, I'm definitely not at the bottom of this, but I thought it was an interesting place to start. The most obvious thing to do is try and contact Sidle via entropy-king and see if they ever sold it, and then try to trace the trade down the lines after that. It seems highly suspicious that this one is pixelated AND has markings overlaid from another design.

I know of at least 1 of it's previous owners (I did a commission of them), but I am not sure how many times it changed hands

I just wanted to put that out there... I have zero plans of ever rehoming him so if anyone ever sees him or something very similar being used by anyone else... It's not legit or has been stolen. ; ;

I had an issue late last year where (well I assume it’s the same person as the story seems similar the ones above) tried to trade him and many of the details didn’t add up / make sense / had dead leads so I’ve been super suspicious for the longest time so I’m assuming this is the same person.

I remember seeing two longthings that i faved and I can't believe it turned out to be the illegitimate ones. i thought it was weird how they just "finished it" from an unfinished custom. And it really sucks because now the MYOs is being held off like thanks for making it rough for the rule abiding folk ;;; I just got into this species and I love them so much, breaks my heart </3

I know I was offered one longthing on an official dainty of mine, then a day later offered 2 long things on the same dainty. I didnt accept or even get the links cause I said I wasnt interested but if it is who I have heard it is I can confirm they were offering them around for daints at least.
