Why I deleted some of my older submissions
7 years ago
Hi there guys! I know the tittle may be a little bit dramatic, but it's nothing, really.
So yeah, I've basically taken down some of my older drawings. 2-3 years ago, I used to rely a lot on references for painting. I was still in college, and my anatomy skills were not so great yet. In fact, for practice, I used to take pics to my friends and try to paint them as accurately as possible, which was great for practicing, but it didn't have much artistry involved, right?
When I opened my account, I wanted to try different things. Furry art opens a lot of possibilities for different character designs and anatomy and stuff :P I used to link the references in the description, and try to credit the artist or artists, if I found the original source (many of the pics were from tumblr, actually, and when do the google picture search only pinterest links appear).
The thing is that the years have passed, and now I'm at a point where I'm more skilled (kinda????) and I'm more confident doing things on my own than "furry versions of stuff", so I'm not confortable with those pics in my gallery anymore. I've learned A LOT about drawing and painting using them as reference tho, but I would not like to have them posted as finished art, but maybe as art studies and such.
I couldn't imagine I would get so many watchers. I mean, in the moment I'm writing this, we are almost 6000. What. WHAT. I would not haver ever believed this little gallery would get so big. Literally, without the support of you guys I would not have kept posting stuff. I wasn't even expecting any attention in the first place. So, I think it's better like this, I don't think keeping some of the old stuff would be fair for any of us, even if the links where in the description (many of my stuff got re-posted and I can't do anything about it, sadly).
I don't know. I just felt like it is the right thing to do??? I've been thinking about this for a few weeks, sorry if it comes all of a sudden.
Hope you guys are ok. And thank you again. Love ya nwn

FA+

But no for real its a pleasure to watch you and I understand the reason to remove that, but at the same time dont forget, those older pieces can be a measuring stick for where youve been and how far youve come!
You are so right. I have tons of old stuff saved in my computer. Maybe I should do an appeciation post of some kind?
But thanks! I really appreciate your opinion, and I think you are very right. Thanks for commenting about it! ♥
