I just finished the first episode from the new lost in space t.v. show.
And while I am not a fan of retconning older characters (I.E. The Last Jedi) Turning the Robinson father into a soldier, from a professor.
Making Maureen a MD
And making Dr. Smith female
The Robot got a bad-ass upgrade however, more mobile, advanced looking and probably more capable.
As I am no fan of retconning characters, I am put off by "why did they change this when they didn't have to." However, I like the idea of the Robinson father as a soldier, if a few minor changes to characters are my only complaints then this show should be worth watching.

And it did what all end seasons do at the last episode leaves it as a cliff hanger for Season 2.
I never really watched the original but I might now.
