Let's get one thing out of the way first of all: It's been over five months since I left FA staff.

The site rules haven't changed.
Unsurprisingly, this means that people are still getting pissed about the exact same kind of calls I had to make when I was on staff.

And, like, I don't really care for it, because Dragoneer is a decent guy and I like the people I worked with. It sucks to see them get maliced. I don't like seeing people I consider friends get attacked. But most of the time it's not really in my sight, so I go about my life blissfully unaware. I don't like the smacktalking in concept, but in practice it's not really something that becomes part of my life on a day-to-day basis.

However. There's a non-zero number of individuals who go out of their way to claim that since rules are getting enforced largely the same way they were when I was on staff (because they're the same fucking rules), I must still be on staff shielding nazis. Or just outright suggest, with varying degrees of subtlety, that I fall somewhere on the spectrum of nazi/sympathizer/apologist.

Stop it.

I resigned. I've been off staff for almost half a year. Stop fucking dragging me into whatever issue you happen to have with FA this week. Especially stop fucking libeling me. Because that's what it is, when you call me a nazi, or accuse me of ever having "shielded" them. Libel. It is a lie, it is defamatory, it is hurtful, and you've done enough harm already. Just lay off it.

If you so badly need a monster to pin ticket responses you don't like on, just go ahead and make up some bogeyman for all I care, but leave me out of it.

That said, I'd also like to extend a hearty fuck you to the folks who try to use my situation to spit-shine their smug letter-of-the-law public face. Describing the circumstances around my resignation as "mob attacks against moderation staff almost resulting in suicide" is not only factually incorrect (I'd have accepted "almost resulting in attempted suicide", but I've been very clear on the point that the method I was considering during my suicidal ideation would have been unsuccessful), but also a distasteful appeal to emotion in an attempt to appear legitimate.

If you actually cared about the person whose suicidal ideation you're attempting to score goodwill capital off of, you'd stay the fuck away. I'm not some kind of sob story you can wave around to show that you're so much more considerate than the awful, awful SJWs. As much as the people who attacked (and continue to attack) me were (are) doing something wrong and need to take a step back and consider the actual harm they're doing, you can't sit there retweeting Breitbart and pretending you have the moral high ground.

Well, you obviously can, since that's what you're doing, but it's an utter load of crock, and I am not okay with being wielded like an emotional bludgeon in the process.

I don't want anything to do with either of y'all's beef. Leave me the hell out of it.
