When you get attached to something and very passionate about it you also get protective of it and that is only natural. And we all makes mistakes :)

That's true, and my artwork feels like it's connected directly to my heart and soul. I spend 20+ hours on pieces that I care about so it is hard to get past being upset when I feel at such a loss.

Glad the situation is resolved, and nobody got harmed in the end. This kind of thing can happen to anyone, so please don't punish yourself because of it. Take some time to relax and organize your thoughts, we can jump to wrong conclusions while under stress.

I appreciate that. I feel rotten for shaking up that girl's world but there was that chance that it could have been legitimate. I am mostly upset because I don't know what steps to take when this is happening and whether I can even get clarity in those situations. Thank you for standing by me

It was a lesson for both of us as I was very fast to judge as well. When we are passionate about our creations it is easy to fall to the wrong conclusions so we need to be extra careful not to harm ourselves nor others.

I believe that there is not much we can do to stop people from copying a pose or setting, but if they copy the identity of your characters then this is something to pay attention, save for super generic characters with no remarkable traits, in this case coincidences very likely will happen.
