Just felt like it'd be an interesting discussion :o
What are some of yours?
- when cheetahs don't look like cheetahs
- when jaguars have leopard spots or vice-verse (it's actually pretty easy to tell the difference; a jaguar's rosettes are much larger and have black spots in the center)
- when rabbits have pawpads (I've had rabbits, they don't xD)
- when rabbits have bent 'half-lop' ears (I've had a half-lop rabbit, their ears look like this, which is way cuter imo. You'll really only see the bending ears in breeds like Angoras because their ear floof is so heavy)
- not being able to tell if a canine is a wolf, dog, fox, coyote, etc.
- when hooved animals have the entire digits of their fingers the hoof part (I just don't understand how they could bend them?)
- when people tag hyenas as canines asfsfdNO they're hyaenidaes. It's more accurate to label them as felines since they're of the suborder Feliformia
- when people forget that perineums exists (AKA butt-balls)
- when there's really no distinct break from fur to dick and it's just a gradient. I do see that it has an appealing look, but in the case of furred animals I don't really get it (does their shaft have hair on it or what)
- just poor anatomy in general (I'll admit I can't look at some of my old art without cringing because the anatomy is so fucking weird in some of them. Especially how I drew rib cages, they looked like a second set of boobs)

My big pet peeve is when every kind of bird has anisodactyl (three toes in front, one in back) feet
i do have hoofed beast with finger class hooves, the anatomy of this is not like that of the animal in these cases it's way more human so they can actually use the hands given them. In bora's case, only her anthro form has this. Can say the same for zodi as well.
anyone that looks at flykat's ref knows it is a how to draw but most don't look at the spot detail info or where they should be x.x so i get the jaguar/leopard rant totally (it's my main gallery pic on my profile if ya curious)
Since hooves are essentially nails I just make the nail bed the hoof part :u
The thing I find the most inexcusable is giving a leopard or jaguar cheetah spots!
oh if someone put cheetah spots on me i'd freak lol or see lep/jag spots on a cheetah >.>
-wings magically going through clothes (though I've become more lax about it over the years and will draw it myself if a client wants me to)
-blinding colors mashing together
-tattoos on fur (...how tho)
-furry animals drawn as if they have skin instead (but are supposed to have fur). It confuses me if I see a reference like this. Do I draw them with the skin look?? or add fur??
Ones I'm not annoyed with any longer:
-reptiles/fish/non-mammals with breasts (simply because if they are human-shaped, it's very easy to say that's why they can have breasts! those animals aren't shaped like humans to begin with so I let it pass)
Thats true of the tattoo's
Bats though i seen back and arm wings
they are too bright, and some people put lots of bright markings over the bright base colors, which makes it hard to look at.
back and arm wings are fine (though feel weird about certain arm wings) but when they are just completely gone, it's strange.
so it's understandable that people think their noses are pretty much dog noses, but they have their unique features when you get up close!

But facial hair is very odd

and I mean my zorse character has a human penis, I don't find horse schlongs all too appealing :y
well guys do have nipples, so I don't see how that's weird. I feel it's stranger if they're drawn without
Cats and dogs have lips, some choose to add big plump lips to accent their mouths for some reason.
On a journal about pet peeves, I've said one of mine which I specified is a personal preference and you've decided to tell me that some animals have some, and some people have a preference for big lips in real life.
Great?? Still a peeve for me. I don't care what other people's preferences are, I am talking specifically about mine.

I'd be interested to see someone draw the all hoof finger but with breaks between the joints so they could bend them (though they'd probably look more robotic like that :y)

I also hate seeing dog dongs on literally EVERYTHING. Just because you like it doesn't mean it belongs on a cat, or bat, or hyena.
This is highly personal preference but I hate characters that just randomly have a massive butt. Like... I know people want to them to look attractive, but throwing a massive ass on a thin and twink looking character makes them look like they have a tumor.
I remember talking with other furs before how seeing canine penises on species who aren't canids has always annoyed me. Sometimes here on FA I'll see a feline with a knot, or even animals who should have a thin and long penis having a knot instead.
I think dragons might be a little exception as they're not real anyways, so we can't know what kind of genitals they'd have. But since they're almost always represented as reptiles, I tend to prefer those who have a reptile kind of penis; that is; having internal balls and a regular thick penis who stays hidden inside a slit.
Sometimes I can't even fave it.
I mean I certainly try to make my characters have fine booties (also guilty of having many twink-ish characters), but I think I stay in the realm of realism (to where they don't look like balloons or implants :o) I have the same issues with ridiculously huge boobs. I can only feel bad for the characters with the size Z bra size with a 20 inch waistline
And when I say massive booties, I do mean those booties that are like "I could use yer ass an an airbag and survive a car crash going 100 mph" I've done it, it's true. You can survive it.
- That kind of style where anthro animals are almost human with their faces, having a really short muzzle, big eyes and an anime mouth that doesn't even seem to connect with the muzzle. Almost like if they were humans with a painted face.
- When balls are drawn in a way that makes them look too far apart, when they should be together in the same sack.
- When knots look like they're one single "ball" at the base of the penis.
- When people forget to draw the urethra at the underside of the shaft.
- When a feral character has a "long' shin, making their legs look like they're anthro legs.
- Seeing plantigrade feet in species that have digitigrade legs. Even worse if they're completely human, with nails and everything.
- When small details on the genitals are missing, either by unawareness or lack of knowledge about how they work. For example, how a knot swells up during ejaculation, or how an equine's glans swell up and expand (flare) before and during ejaculation.
Well the knot on real animals arnt two orbs side by side but one ball
