Fekkri story summary / snippet catalogue
A handful of people have asked about the little tidbits I tend to post with some of my commissions and artwork, so I've organized them a bit, here!
Most of the snippets are from one of draite 's old D&D campaigns, where I played a tabaxi rogue/druid/bard named Fekkri. Unfortunately, we didn't stream or record the game where I played Fekkri, but we do stream most of our newer campaigns, and you can catch them on Twitch or Youtube.
Some of the snippets are direct quotes from our games, others are from between-session roleplay segments, and some of them are just fictional stuff I come up with to go along with the piece. Sometimes, they're related to the picture, and other times, they're just unrelated tidbits that I thought were fitting or funny.
I do occasionally post snippets from other games! For instance, the pieces involving Djek are from a low-magic campaign (also run by Draite) that only plays once every month or two, and the pieces involving Mustard are from a campaign that my brother occasionally runs on the weekend. Additionally, there is a decent amount of Fekkri-related art that is entirely non-canon or from AU sessions. Most of the time, if a piece of art has some sort of dialogue / story attached to it, and it's not listed here, it's AU / non-canon.
But below, I've compiled most of the posts that have story elements / quotes from the campaign where I play Fekkri. The posts are organized according to the content of stories/their descriptions, not their images or the exact time that the story was told. I'll try to keep this updated, but poke me if I fall behind!
WARNING: Several of these images are NSFW. I'm a heathen, and so are most of my characters. Some of the smut is canon, some of it isn't.
Fekkri's Childhood and Early Life
Fekkri ("Big Sky") was born to a tabaxi clan in the grasslands of Caephor. His mother, Cissa ("Child of the Moon"), was an herbalist, alchemist, and druidic healer. His father, Makka ("Brave"), was a speaker for the dead and a hunter. His younger brother, Rikken ("Big Hunger"), was naturally adept at hunting and other elements of life on the grasslands.
Fekkri, fascinated by traveling merchants and tales of foreign civilization, preferred daydreaming about magic, music, and machines over hunting, skinning, and foraging. He did not fit in well with the rest of the clan, and was often teased for being small, weak, and bad at hunting / nomadic life. Rikken was his closest friend, and stood up for Fekkri, even after Fekkri tried to run away from home on multiple occasions.
Fekkri's nomadic clan was forced to move frequently as seasons changed and resources ran low. Although he wasn't sure, Fekkri later believed that the reason he was born small and scrawny is because of a food shortage or some other struggle during his mom's pregnancy. The first move Fekkri experienced took them to the coast, where they roamed for several years. Although the coast was bountiful, it left them more exposed to outside civilizations and seafaring traders. This delighted Fekkri.

Attack and Abduction
When Fekkri was ten, his clan was attacked by slavers working for the North Wind Trading Company, a criminal organization that operated out of a volcanic trade city far across the sea, to the south, in Blacksand Cove. The attack happened overnight; Fekkri did not see Rikken or Makka during the attack, and saw Cissa only briefly. She gave him a box containing a musicbox, a potion, her necklace (which he later learned was a druidic focus), and her earring, and told him to run away as fast as he could.
Fekkri started to run, but turned back to try to help. He was knocked unconscious, taken captive, and woke up on a slave ship.
Fearing for his life and freedom, Fekkri begged the slavers not to sell him. Instead, he offered to stay on the ship and work with them. With some persuasion, some luck, and some natural affinity for life at sea, they branded his ear and kept him aboard as a slave.

Slaver Years and Mutiny
As Fekkri grew older, the slavers expected him to not only work the ship, but join them in raiding parties. He was initially coerced into looting and thievery, but quickly spiraled fully into the role of a slaver. At his worst, Fekkri was responsible for murder, rape, and abduction.
At the age of twenty, after ten years at sea, a tabaxi boy named Nika was abducted by Fekkri's colleagues. Like Fekkri, Nika begged not to be sold, and used a combination of wit and underhanded sneakery to join the crew, just as Fekkri had done ten years before. When Fekkri recognized this pattern, he realized the absolute depravity he had fallen into, and how his complacency was perpetuating a cycle. He worked with Nika to poison the slavers, arm the slaves, and organize a mutiny.

Post-Slavery Wandering, "Locksmithing"
Fekkri sailed the stolen ship to the nearest port, a coastal city named Ironcrest, where he abandoned the slaves and the ship and ran for his life, fearing retaliation from the North Wind Trading Company. For some time, he survived on theft, using the skills he learned as a slaver to target wealthy slave owners throughout the city. He jumped from town to town for a short time, then saved up enough money to sail home to Caephor, where he searched for signs of his tribe. He found nothing, gave up, and sailed back south to the mainland, assuming his family was dead.
Lonely, empty, and disillusioned with the "civilized" life he once dreamed about, Fekkri traveled from town to town, eventually arriving in a city named Westhaven, where he met a locksmith named Flint Westmond who shared his distaste for the local thieves' guild, and offered him steady, honest employment as a locksmith. Fekkri learned the basics of smithing and tinkering, and was able to exercise his love of complicated machinery. He continued to perform robberies on occasion, mostly out of boredom, exclusively targeting wealthy slave owners and other distasteful plutocrats.

The Adventurer
While traveling between cities, Fekkri encountered some adventurers (

), and helped them scare off a witch whose blight minions attacked their caravan. The excitement of this episode was a spark of curiosity in Fekkri's otherwise-grey life, and his dissatisfaction with thievery and locksmithing grew for another year until he decided to set out looking for a group to join. There, he met up with another adventuring party (

), left his locksmithing life behind, and officially became an adventurer.
Fekkri's initial motive as an adventurer was to raise money, and use that money to purchase and emancipate slaves. As Fekkri began to integrate with the adventuring group - a guild called Daybreak ran by a dragonborn bard named Arvonax (
) - he began experiencing semi-involuntary druidic magic. Confused, he sought out a witch doctor, who told him to seek out the various druidic circles throughout the land for more information.

Family Rescue
With the help of a druidic circle and his new adventuring party, Fekkri learned that his family members were all still alive. Through the use of the Dream spell, he was able to communicate with them. He learned that his brother, Rikken, was being held captive by a fire giant in the mountains far to the southwest. His father, Makka, was being forced to work mines in an unknown location. His mother, Cissa, was unable to communicate, and seemed to be under the effects of a Feeblemind spell. They were able to track her down to a mage college in Queras'lan.
Although Fekkri insisted on not disrupting the guild's business, they insisted on helping him recover his family, in between other adventures. Fearing that his mother might not recognize him, and especially concerned that she might be frightened by his adult appearance (particularly his slaver brand), Fekkri began regularly contacting his mother via the dream spell, slowly acclimating her to his appearance by "growing up" in front of her while singing her lullaby to her. He also used these dreams to introduce her to Rikken's adult appearance, as well as Arvie and his other adventuring partners.
Eventually, the party traveled to the southwest, located Rikken, and rescued him from his fire giant captors. They found him in a state of absolute mental brokenness, hardly able to function on his own after years of enslavement, abuse, and mutilation. Since the rescue, a significant portion of Fekkri's attention has been spent slowly rehabilitating his brother. Through a combination of support, vulnerability, and well-intentioned manipulative encouragement, Rikken has slowly started to rebuild fragments of his courage.

Some time later, the party set sail towards the mage college of Queras'lan, where Fekkri hoped to find and rescue his mother. After a grueling crawl through the city's arcane oubliette, a couple of deadly encounters with the mage college's corrupt headmaster, and a web of shady dealings with Miirik, a druidic acquaintance from Fekkri's past, the party found Cissa. Through a series of poor decisions, the party was unable to use magic to remove her Feeblemind, meaning her only shot at being returned to herself was a miraculous moment of clarity (mechanically: an extremely difficult saving throw that she could only attempt once per month). Against all odds, Cissa recognized Fekkri when he began singing her lullaby, and fought off the effects of the spell.

While in Blacksand Cove, Fekkri discovered paperwork pointing to a military mining camp far to the north, in the Cadinean Empire, notorious for their hatred of arcane magic. With this knowledge, the party was able to arrange a magically-assisted extraction plan, and Makka was rescued with little trouble.

Revenge
Fekkri eventually returned to Blacksand Cove - the volcanic harbor city where his old slaving company - the North Wind Trading Company - operates and maintains its headquarters. There, with the help of the adventuring party, he confronted Ozudirth, the pirate king, de facto ruler of Blacksand Cove, and quasi-CEO of the North Wind Trading Company (and several other, smaller slaving companies). During their confrontation, Ozudirth was revealed to be a lava dragon assuming the form of a fire giant.
After Ozudirth was slain, Fekkri worked with the party to capitalize on the power vacuum, establishing their guild (and the Dreadmaw clan) as the new rulers of Blacksand Cove, and disallowing anyone to leave the city without relinquishing their slaves. Eventually, with the added manpower of the Dreadmaw clan, they started sweeping the city more directly, mandating the release of slaves citywide.
Over the years following the campaign, Fekkri and Arvie began extending this policy farther inland, targeting the giants to the northeast in Nogh Kuldihr.

The Party
The adventuring party that Fekkri travels with has gained and lost members over the course of his career, but here are some of the ones that have come up in stories and descriptions:
http://www.furaffinity.net/view/22982966/ - Fearless
http://www.furaffinity.net/view/23394335/ - Careless Whispers
Arvonax ("Arvie") (
) - Dragonborn Bard. Over the course of their adventures, Fekkri and Arvie opened up to each other about their pasts, both of which involved painful childhoods, slavery, and coerced acts of tremendous evil that they later regretted immensely. Over time, this friendship grew into a relationship. Fekkri and Arvie eventually married, and once their adventuring days were over, used the True Polymorph spell to have two children: Cricket and Alana. Cricket's story is being told in a followup campaign.
Arvie was exiled from his clan for a number of reasons, not the least of which was the usurping and murder of his tyrant father. Several years later, he returned to the clan with his adventuring party, where they proved his strength and worthiness to rule in a series of trials, then offered to conquer a new home for them - Blacksand Cove - as proof of leadership and competence. The party's successful capture of the city emboldened the Dreadmaw clan and helped firmly establish Arvie as their new leader, with a new way of doing things.
Arvie's mother, Zarissa, died giving birth to him. He later learned that his father, Arboraxas - a tyrant and a terrible man - bound her soul into a mask, which was later shattered out of necessity to prevent Arvie's death (and the death of several other innocent people). This shattering caused a portion of Zarissa's soul to be bound to Arvie, and she became trapped in his dreams, where she protected him from nightmares. Through the use of the Dream spell, Fekkri helped facilitate communication between Arvie and Zarissa, while the party searched for a way to release her. Eventually, with the help of Patches and his father, Arvie was able to use the Wish spell to trade a portion of his soul to restore his mother's. Zarissa's body was reformed, but remained unconscious and unresponsive in the care of Romanorum's royal family. Zarissa did not wake up until about 3 years later, when Cricket was born.

Wren (
) - Fairy Wizard. Wren spent a significant portion of the campaign trying to redeem and reason with his brother, Robin, a powerful sorcerer who was lured into the cult-like service of Chadroth - the same void dragon at the head of Javyth's cult. The party was eventually able to defeat the dragon without killing Robin, allowing Wren a chance to reunite with Robin and make things right.

Javyth (

He eventually learned that "Tammy" was actually a fragment of the soul of his father, Tamrius, who used to be a very powerful and evil wizard. Before his death, Tamrius had placed his soul into a number of phylacteries - including "Purr," whose real name was revealed to be Patches. After obtaining a number of rare and powerful components, Tamrius was able to guide Patches through a ritual to remove his soul and place it into the form of a demilich, where he would be independent and sentient, but limited in his ability to feel, sense, and move on his own.

Fekkri's initial motive as an adventurer was to raise money, and use that money to purchase and emancipate slaves. As Fekkri began to integrate with the adventuring group - a guild called Daybreak ran by a dragonborn bard named Arvonax (

Arvonax ("Arvie") (

Zarissa did not wake up until about 3 years later, when Cricket was born.

you should write novels XD there is enough material here to write a trilogy ;)
I could honestly see this being a film, and now I wanna see that. xD
God, there were so many lines I had forgotten about that just sucked the fucking wind out of me, too.
"I was obedient"
"I've never been brave like you"
"I'm hurt"
"Will you keep me?"
"I remember that you were there"
"I don't even know her face, Fekkri... I don't know if she'd be happy for me, or disappointed like dad was"
((Because you look exactly like your mother.))
aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah
When multiclassing goes too far.
I am eager to see the fruits of the next journey.
Hopefully, we'll get some bitchen cameos, but I know that will just be a bonus to the already amazing story to come.
Anything for that Kitten.
