So… update, since one is way overdue…
I made it through another year. Huzzah. This is… the first birthday I’ve ever had that hasn’t been a month-long celebration.. maybe I’m just… getting too old for that, or maybe it’s because of the abysmal year I’ve had… who knows. Either way… I made it. So… that’s something.
In “honour” of my birthday, [more because I desperately need to get my mattress replaced… I’ve been sleeping on the couch for over a month and it’s fucking killing me…] all premade adopts are 25-50% off. All of them. That includes the ones that say they’re not part of any sale.

Mental and emotional state… slightly better? I’m hesitant to say that… I’m hesitant to feel that, really. Historically—this year, at least—whenever things start looking up… they end up going down. Wayyyyyy down. But… I’m holding on. Trying. Desperately.
Physically, my wrist and foot are still fucked. I’ve been going to PT but… I swear it’s just making it worse ;-; I mean, it’s not… I’ve been able to do more for longer periods of time… but it’s still painfully and horribly slow. On the plus side, I found out why I’m always getting sick [I mean, ASIDE from being surrounded by school aged children who bring back every fucking terrible germ that they can from school…] One of my kids is a carrier for strep throat. And antibiotics don’t work. Sometimes—a lot of the time—a simple case of the sniffles will present with strep symptoms. Which, thanks to the whole antibiotics not working thing, really… fucking sucks. But at least I know, now, and I can understand.
ANYWAY, working on getting everything done so I can start over, start fresh. This has been hanging over my head for FAR too long, and you’ve all been WAY too patient. So… yeah. Slowly but surely. It WILL all get done.

if antibiotics don't work on those, then try out those alternatives. if they work, then they'll spare you a lot of pain.
I'm no couch coinasseur, but I've been surfing this one for some years now. [The wife purchased a tuft and needle mattress, which is good, but damnit I can only get comfortable sleeping diagonal. Not fair for her!] If I may boldly suggest, throw off the cushions, replace it with rolled up blankets, and you have decent spine support. I hope you are able to afford the mattress soon, dear. I'm all too familiar with the dangers of sleep deprivation.
Thank you, for sharing, especially about your kid. I'm always in paranoia about what the future for my little ones might hold, nothing nearly as bad as you have it. But your ability to power through all of it and stay on top of it. It is truly inspiring. I know you may feel differently about it, but at the least you deserve to know the positivity you have been providing. Intentionally or no, thank you!!
