dunno if this would work for anyone else, but what i do.... i have some really simple characters that i made for when i have blocks. they're so easy to draw that i can always fall back on them if i'm having trouble making anything else. that way i can at least make _something_ and keep drawing even when i'm struggling. helps to keep myself from getting too out of practice. :]
