Tax follow up
While I may still owe a fair chunk, the really important bart, a major breakthrough actually, was that I was able to contact my old accountant to tackle the problem and get the ball rolling on resolving everything.
Back in '08, filing taxes for '07, the year Bev died, I had a major anxiety attack over the process, and simply could not do anything more with it thereafter. Didn't follow up on some details for '07 with the accountant, didn't even try to file the next years. I just could not go there. Even as I knew this would lead to bad things over time.
But now, with the 'help' of the IRS threatening to come after me, I've properly began the process of taking care of business.

The reality is that the IRS is just the product of bureaucracy. They're not evil, they just follow a long list of strict rules.
It's the lawmakers that are evil!
