50,000 Word Writing Challenge, and Potential for Stream
7 years ago
Hey everyone. Been a while since my previous (and first!) entry. I wasn't sure how often I'd be making posts. I guess we know the answer is "not very often." Anyway, here are some updates.
I've been carrying along well enough in my short time here. Gotten a couple commissions. Written a few, myself. Have a pretty good system in place. I have a somewhat-lengthier writing project in the works currently (longer than the one-shot stories and such I've posted so far). It's pokémon based, and hopefully will be an entertaining read. It is vore-themed, but it won't be the focus all the time.
I think I'm all caught up on roleplay logs. You probably won't see many more of those. The ones I've posted thus far are all from years' worth of roleplaying (having to track down some folks for permission to post). No more freebie posts for me!
Now on to the subjects in the title. This month is National Novel Writing Month, which others may have heard of before. I am taking this challenge to heart! While I am not writing a single story of 50,000 words, I am taking that word count and making that my November goal: Write 50,000 words in stories through November. So far so good! I'm well on pace. We'll see what happens when we get into the first full week, but I'm confident I can make it through.
Another idea I've been kicking around for a while now is whether or not to stream myself writing any. I have everything set up on the technical side, but have yet to pull the trigger. I've no idea how much interest there is in watching someone write on a stream, but I guess the best way to find out is to just do it. Worst case is that nobody tunes in! As far as what'll be on the stream: Non-private commissions and any other stories I may be working on. If I get really brave I may even host a "commission sketch" stream. Only instead of sketches, of course, it'd be short one-off stories (1,000 words or so). That's all in the future though. Suppose I just need to get up and streaming.
That's about it. Been enjoying my time getting to know more people and generally hanging out.
