QUESTION TO YOU ALL ???

Would it make any sense to you if I got a Twitter account to let you know what I'm working on and/or whenever I have posted a new picture on this site? I know a bunch of you don't check this site every day but most likely check Twitter.

I won't be posting art directly on Twitter though, as I dislike that site with all my heart. But maybe you would find it useful to get updates from me? Or would you just don't care and check this site on your own pace?

Please let me know. I won't open a Twitter account out of my own volition, but I can consider it if a lot of you would find this useful.

I dislike twitter. Some like it, though, so... whatever works. I just look here : )

Would only make sense to those who use Twitter, I imagine. I wouldn't touch that if you paid me.

Right, I just wanted to "gauge" how many of my viewers used both platforms. I am getting the sense that most of them only use FA, and still don't care about reading journals ;)

Aye - most do. The problem with journals on FA is that people make too many of them, too often. Each week I would say I have around 120 to 140 journals build up, so apart from a quick scan over them, there's no time to take a detailed look at them.

I understand. But it also seems that people just don't read anything in general. They just look at the visuals and then move on. Why do I say this? Well, in almost every picture I post, I ask a question in the description and nobody ever answers it ;)

Heh, tell me about it. Our estimate is that only around 1.3% of the Paw-Post readers actually read the opening and closing commentary. The realization came when VK offered free art to anyone that simply mentioned the offer in her opening commentary, and after offering it for 4 Paw-Posts, she only got a handful of people actually asking. Sadly, that's one of the reasons I often considering discontinuing it. :/

Yeah man, I understand your pain, especially in your case because what you do requires a lot of effort and can only be transferred through writing. Seems like the right thing to do now is video format or just podcasts lol. But that would require even more work on your end.

Haha.. yep - and I've considered that! I would need to get a high quality mic for a podcast, but the one issue I know I'd have right off the bat is that many people would feel too nervous to do a voice interview. Already, a lot of people are nervous even doing the text one.

I have no problem with the voice interview ;) And you can get a blue yeti microphone. It is super good and not stupidly expensive.

Hmm... well, it might be worth considering - even maybe just to record the opening intro. Then the question becomes; where to host the audio files. XD

Maybe SoundCloud? I'm not so sure but I've seen other podcasts stored there.

I made a twitter just a few days ago to keep track of other artist who use it for this very purpose. Thus far, I don't really care for it though and if you already dislike it, then I wouldn't waste the effort.

I like twitter, but I know some people here who don't use it. In the venn diagram of FA users and Twitter users, I'm noticing that there's only a small intersection of the two (in terms of my watchers anyway, wouldnt know about yours!) Some people browse through one site and never really follow/watch if they don't have an account, some keep to one site only.

Its up to you to post updates there but there would probably only be a little amount of people here who'd see it.

An easy alternative to unread journals is to post a journal as a submission. Maybe make a thumbnail of a popular image with WIP UPDATE or Status Update or something written on it to get attention, then just add whatever you want to say to the details.

It would need to be added IN the picture itself. Because almost nobody reads picture descriptions XD

I read them. But I'm not everybody. I like to look at a picture then look to see what the author/artist says about it.

I know a few people do. I try to do it as well, excluding the cases when the artist thinks its a good idea to write a novel in the description rather than a short caption.

When I include a story with a picture, I try to post it as a separate submission :) Some older ones do have the stories in the description though, but they have something about the pictures above the story.
